wow - looks great Dave,
are you going to run the tie rod behind the axle? I don't know if all of those arms are made that way or if you ordered it like that so you could run steering behind the axle.

Kick A:thumbup: Looked great in person, bit looks even better in the lics. keep it up, you need to beat Andy out the door.
I don't think that's going to be much of a challenge. Hell, all of my drivetrain components aren't even in the same state!Quote:

Hey, Jackass(ic)! Where's the 'Binder love? You're supposed to be rootin' for me, not rice boy!
Seriously, the FJ is looking great. I can't imagine building it in those close quarters, kudos for y'all for doing so. How far away is the finished (for now) project?
David, let me know when you get ready to buy tubing.
The steering will run behind and the rock ram will go in the front, or at least that is what the plans were as of Sunday :)
how does the steering work with the driveshaft? is it bent around it or is that not an issue with these arms?
Back so soon from hunt'n? Sorry about the support issue, but I have time and rep invested with dave. I was pulling for him to beat doug/flem/scott six months ago. He still may win:DQuote:

Wow -- nice work....i can see how it was a total pain in the ass. a buddy of mine is gonna be down this weekend with his cruiser he just got running, and might be interested in seeing yours. You gonna be in Houston for the wedding I assume?
Seth
Agnitek must be doing well these days.
Any time I could stop by and see this beast in person?
holy sh¡t! thats a nice box o' goodies!
Very nice, and the Jegs stickers even match:D
A little more this weekend. Nothing real recognizable.
New 6* shim in the front.
Put the rear hubs back on.
Mounted the clutch slave cylinder.

Measured.
Drive shafts and ebrake will be ordered this week from Jess.
Tie rod and drag link will be ordered this week from Scott.
What did you get done Schubring? Post it to your thread.

I'll post my own progress thread tonight... BTW david... my slave cylinder is better than yours it's anodized aluminum... blue... :D :D
Do you need any help picking up those names you dropped?
:flipoff2:
If I would have said that "I'm ordering driveshafts and steering linkage", I would have had to respond 5 minutes later to someone asking where I was getting them from. Their names were shorter than their company names. So there you have it.

I'd buy that for a dollar.
Looks good.
so Mark,
when u gona come down and run my brake lines...
how much clearance did you end up with between the tie rod and spring?
Wow. The drivelines and 205 parking brake are super cool. Excellent choices all around.
Oh, what are the specs on your rear shaft, and how much length did parking brake add to your 205? Also, why go with that over the rear disk e-brake? Not second guessing you, just curious since I'll be making the same calls in the future.
He's got about -.25". Spacers are required. But at least the tie rod is too long.Quote:

Dave needs to post a pic of the brake line uterus. Its my finest bit of tube bending.

that sounds like a good deal scott, you would only have to make 5 or 6 bends, mark would be making like 27 bends, and he would have to flare lines, PITA...Quote:

NO
I think I will just do my brake lines myself, unless I get a free good deed:D
Well, I have to thank Mark and Brandon again for all of the help. Even Tate came out and helped for a while. Thanks Johnathan.
This weekend was mostly finishing up some of the things from last weekend. The main new development was learning that we could run 42s with just a spring over. No body lift...
.. I'll give you a hint.

Jeremiah Proffit's FJ-45
Looks great Dave! Never thought about hydroboost....sure saves a lot of firewall space. Was that clutch master clean enough to use or did you rebuild it already?
Hey, where'd you score the Tcase mounted park brake?
I didn't rebuild it.... yet. We'll see if it holds. On the tcase mount, it's from High Angle Driveline. There's more details on my site.

sweet pics, she is finally coming along. Now the question is who will be done first, Dave or Scott? Bets anyone?
My money is on Scott. I still have a lot of house projects going on that are going to be getting some love in the near future. I feel like I've been moving at break neck speed on the Cruiser progress lately.

Three(ish) more days of work on it...
looks good dave......got anymore pics of it? also did you make your own wiring harness for the lights and such or are you using a painless type harness?
I used a Centech Kit.

p.s. that's my online proof that I am figuring the whole welding thing out;) Thanks Dave for letting me experiment on your FJ.
should have cleaned the steel better, I see one dirty spot. also lacking tacks on the bottom side causing it to warp:D
Slow down Dave!! Looks good

For the record, I beveled both pieces on both sides, so it was clean.
Also it was perfecty flat and and true. That is the bottom side and the other side was compleatly welded. One piece pitches in because the tube that was to be weld on is off set. You'll see when the part is done:)
That was the point I knew I had to much and had to go home.:DQuote:
