sorry, poor attempt at sarcasm.
that thing looks sweet, and fast build, as far as I'm concerned!
How's it ride? Are the springs just right? What shocks? Flex? No locks on those dubs?
Okay I'll be back with 15 more questions tomorrow...

i like
brakes, rocker guards, the little stuff for the motor and i think thats about it. oh and maybe tubefenders before or after tcc.
hes running H2 rims and i think they are double bead locks
no locks yet. i'm going to try them with out them first and see how they do.
are you still doing the :rainbow: boat glitter on the cage???
i think it is already on there... and i think it is called city lights
looks really good man what is the name of the blue color im thinkin of paintin the big nasty something similiar along with a silver, or pearl white after this summer mods.
brilliant blue pearl and the last clear coat i added some different colors of pearl to it. so in the sun you can see the red and green.
Looks great! That first scratch/dent is going to suck with something that looks that good... :gigem:
PS, I need my bender down here if your done with it...
That first pic didn't load for me yesterday. Damn that looks kick ass...least for a jeep :gigem:
I know you said you were building it for the trail only but with a rig that nice I guarantee your gonna be driving around campus picking up little freshmen.
Nice work http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/image...ies/smokin.gif
what size joints are you running on the d-shafts? cv rear or single joint?
rear is a 1350 CV at the x-fer and 1410 at the axle. the 1350 CV likes to break alot.
front is 1350 CV at the x-fer and 1350 at the axle.
thanks. good info there.
so, do you wish you had gone with a single 1410 at the rear x-fer instead?
i don't think they can handle the angle. or can they? i never really looked into it. if it can then i will for sure have to upgrade. with the flanges being $100 a pop it would pay for itself pretty quickly...
the 1410 can handle 28 degrees and the 1350 cv can do 20 degrees. only problem is it will vibrate at highway speed if your rear pinion is pointed up.
so its the flange on the t-case output that keeps breaking?
edit: is your jeep even street legal or registered?
kopecki and i were just discussing it over some keystone and we agree that you must be over-flexing the 1350 CV to break it.
i drive my jeep down the highway alot, thats the main reason i built it like the way it is. i don't drive it slow on the highway i usually run 70-75 so the cv joint is probably the best option. the flange on the cv that bolts to the x-fer case is the one that keeps breaking. my 1350 cv will go a little more that 20 degrees and sits at 19 degrees at ride height.
So why not bump up to a 1410 CV?
i don't think it can handle the highway speeds. the guys at high angle said the 1350 was the biggest i could get and still drive down the highway at speeds faster than 30 mph.
Ah, well that sucks. I think I saw on pirate that Jess was working on some kind of new u-joint that was capable of like 40 degrees. It looked like it came from some kind of agricultural application and I dont know how highway friendly it is but it might be worth looking into.
he calls it a 42 degree CV. says its "comparable" to a 1410. he also states its not for highway use. whats the point then?
It's also effin' huge. I run one on the front shaft in the Scout. Think coffee can, seriously.
EDIT: No on the highway speeds.
