when was the last time you welded stick?
last week
i actually prefer stick for some stuff.
as a matter of fact the only things on my scout that arent sticked are the sliders and new spring perches.
I'm sorry it must have slipped my mind for a second that you were God's gift to fabricating
and your radiator is tigged
:flipoff2:
Damn you guys both have huge internet wangs! :flipoff2:

Got the hardware for the radius arm caps today and managed to clean out all the threads in the radius arms so that the bolts will thread all the way in. Taking the radius arms to work tomorrow so I can use the impact and get the brackets off of the arms.
I wish I could change the title and maybe even the location of this thread now but whatever. I got a lot done at work tonight on the truck. Got the nuts off the radius arms. Got all the hardware i should need. cleaned out the threads on two spring cup holes. drilled out and managed to turn out one old siezed spring cup hole. drilled out and tapped the last spring cup hole. Also borrowed a few sockets that will hopefully fit my pitman arm nut - anyone know what that is off hand? Aso borrowed a 1/2 inch bit to drill holes in the frame - we will see how it holds up
Also got the gears for the rear to match and a tru trac last night
Anyone have any suggestions for locating and marking holes? I am thinking about bolting the axle up to the arms and springs, let the weight down on it and then see where the brackets end up. Then i guess eyeball the center of one hole - punch it, pilot hole, big hole. then bolt that up to drill through the bracket for the rest of the holes.
Next few big things -
get tire and mount
dril holes in frame
swap pitman arm
clean up and paint parts
fab track bar mount
all for now
sounds good, wish I lived in CS to help you ouit
****ty weather sucks - i want a shop...
Found my digital cam today - actually my roommate did. It was under one of the "dog couches" Apparently he was chewing on the case. Mother ****ers. So yeah - I can take pics now.
Got the radius arms on the axle tonight - it was a ***** for one person. I got one on and tightened all 4 bolts. then pulled them one at a time to put the lockwashers on (it was easier to get the bolts started without the lockwashers) I got the first side started by picking up the axle and propping it up on the radius arm - that way something compressed the bushing some. Anyways I got the second side on in a similar way, and realized that I had put the cap on upside down, so i had to take it apart and start over on that side. Then when I looked at both of them the first one had the bushings in wrong so I had to take it apart and switch them around.
Also got the pitman arm nut off tonight - now I need to fig out how to get the arm itself off - might borrow a puller tomorrow at work.
how do i attach images now? its not like it used to be - they are on my comp not a website if it makes a diff
sounds good. and to attach images scroll down to the manage attachments
and make sure you resize them

gonna be workin on the truck today - come by if you want - 214-906-3678 - might need help getting the radius arms in the brackets and lined up located etc
this is where im at
so went out and messed with the truck a little today - im gettin frustrated and figured I would see if I got any input here before I just go do it next time I get out there. I am having a tough time deciding where to mount the rear radius arm brackets. I tried an existing hole but they were too far back. I tried drilling one hole but it was too far forward. So now I just know it needs to be somewhere in the middle. Problem is that I dont want to drill any more holes unless they are gonna be the final ones, but it is a pain to get the axle in place any other way to check what the springs look like with weight on them. I am going to get some degreaser tomorrow so I can clean up the oil (i started it up forgetting that it had a hole in the oil filter) and then i am about to the point that I am gonna pick a point that I kind of marked, drill it, bolt it and say **** it. The brackets have to be bolted to the rad arms in order to get the bushings all right and then the brackets lined up, either way it is a pain. post up what yall think - also if anyone has some free time let me know and I can get to where we can work on it. Thanks in advance.
edit - beat on the pitman arm some today - no luck - the puller I have is not gonna work for this - anyone have a pitman arm puller or should I just spend 20 bucks and get one from jc whitney?
also drained the oil - i never appreciated clean oil like I do now that I change it all the time - and mine was bad (crude according to eric :flipoff2: )
is there a way to move this thread? or should i just start a new one in buildups?
I'll have a pitman arm puller down there this weekend.
puttin lissas new box on the jeep?
haha, you said "Lissa's box!"
