Is there a curb weight thread? I was around 5400 last time I was at Bryan Iron, I'd like to get down to about 5000. Aluminum wheels will save a few, took out sub box and subs, Then I am afraid it gets to body. Tailgate, hood, fenders anyone?

i save weight by running propane 10 gal tank, and I'll fill the cage and tires with helium and Ill damn near float. I moght need a little bigger tires though. ill try to get it to bryan metal on friday.
my f150 was 4650 today at bryan iron after i unloaded the bed... that is with tools and such inside
The co-op in Bryan has scales too?

Patrol is at 3600# trail ready. Dodge was over 8K I think...
Crewcab and empty trailer tip the scales at 9500 lbs leaving the scrap yard. Need to weigh pigpen though. I'm hoping for around 5k, which is decent for a fullsize.
i did some research (a.k.a.- searched pirate) a while back to see just how light of a sammy buggy you could build. the lightest i found was this one. he said it was 2350# iirc. full sammy 1.3l d-train, toy axles, 37's.

axles? drivetrain? do tell.
def wantin driveshafts w double carden diff gears. thanks
its a guy at work. Basically he didn't have a place to go with the truck (82 toy) so he cut it up a year or so ago and kept the good parts. Now he is into cars and wants to get rid of the stuff. He says he has the axles, springs, d-shafts, t-case and a set of 33 inch BFGs on black rockcrawler wheels. He is supposed to get me pics on monday, and an idea of what he wants. If you're interested in any of it, let me know. I think he'll sell most of it pretty cheap since he has no idea of what it is worth or use for it
okay, if you want certain things, pm me what you think would be a fair offer and I'll run it by him
