get the damn thing, put some decent sized tires on it, wheel the piss out of it, and then plan upgrades after you have some wheeling under your belt
also your passanger side headlight is out on the dodge

If i were you i wouldn't do sh*t to it, just wheel and have fun. WHEN it DOES break, scrap it and and start saving for your real longterm keeper rig. But for the datsun just learn how to wheel smart with it, and it will go along way with any rig you choose to eventually build.
couple more fires and it will outgrow it.Quote:

yah i'm going have to move it soon, because every time the kiddies have a fire it shrinks from the heat.
jump it
get it, weld the rear and pull out the sawzall
this is what i have decided!
get it, weld it, sawzall all unwanted sheet metal, build some different bumpers and maybe some sort of cage, and wheel it till the wheels fall off!
And fix the headlight on the dodge
Looks like a solid start, might be able to get it for $200! :)Quote:

You can wheel the Datsun 'til the wheels fall off, but I'm also betting it will be the first run to 47. Which for $300 that is fine. I just dropped $300 for 3 tickets to a football game, you will get at least that much enjoyment out of it. Also, if it gives you something to wrench on, you'll learn a lot, just don't listen to Sharpe! Worst case, it breaks something then you patch it together and see how far it will launch.
This isn't entirely true. The front output on my case was a slip yoke. Last time I checked, no one makes a slip yoke eliminator kit for a Mazda. In addition to that, the front output points up a little bit and there was no way I could find a driveshaft that would have made the drop. I would have had to move the axle pretty far forward. There are some details that need to be looked over on that truck before it is determined that a SAS can be done.Quote:

:flipoff3:
it couldn't hurt to offer him 250 or even less
good stuff.
he wanted 400 cuz thats what he paid then he put tires and a new floor into it so 300 is good i think
It's a good deal if you are happy w/ it, no matter what you paid or what some of the joos around here tell you. :D
Thanks :cheers:Quote:

Only in that it gives you a platform that has a better aftermarket behind it. Other than that, I would think no.
i wouldn't buy, just based on personal preference , no real rationale behind it though
well datsun is cheaper(i dont have to pay all up front either)and i have found a few guys online that have done a sas with yota parts so if yall dont think the jeep is a whole better then ill stick with the datsun
Just needs a timing chain gasket....so it runs? How bad is the leak now?
In other news, that is the last time I copy and paste a link from you. Use the button on the reply screen with a little earth and a chain (link?!) from now on. I promise, if I can do it, so can you.
sorry about the link. he said it was leaking a little not much but he took the cover off to replace and has not done it
don't get it it is a closed knuckle d44 in the front, also the t-case sucks. the rear axle may be usable but since it is not running i don't think i would even pay 1/3 of thatQuote:

just cause he has a certain amount in it doesn't mean that it is worth that. you learn that real quick fixing/ modifying cars.Quote:
