No just no, but hellz no! :flipoff2:
(I need another project/pile like I need a hole in my head)
looks freakin sick...those gonna rub?
I bet once he gets the plasma warmed up they don't. ;)
When swapping from a small block with a sm465 behind it to a bigblock with the same sm465 behind it, does the clutch need to be replaced with the flywheel or can the old clutch be re-used? They have different part numbers on Rock Auto but I dont see why the old clutch cant be re-used if it isnt ****ed up.
is it a clutch kit? maybe the pilot bushing is different OD
Yes, an Acdelco kit. P/n 381969 from rockauto. I used a 90 V3500 w/ a 454 as the application to look it up. I dont know exactly what year Ed's motor is, but all the TBI blocks and cranks should be the same. Flywheel p/n 388002.
I have been searching on this the last few weeks, but haven't stumbled on anything yet. If it matters, it came out of a 91.
C/K series or R/V?
same size disc?
C/K came out of a dually IIRC.
Thoughts on a performance aftermarket clutch and/or flywheel? The Acdelco parts I spec'd out above are on the cheaper end of things, and I dont want this **** to **** up while Ed is dragging a dump truck up a hill or something.
it had a centerforce or something along those lines in there, you can't use the same disk w/ the new flywheel
It had the centerforce dual friction which everyone told me not to get and I didn't listen. It was pretty much an on/off clutch, and with the troubles we had with the novak hydroclutch conversion it was a major pain for a while. The Centerforce 2 may be the best bet.
From Centerforce Website
Pressure Plate: CFT361909
Disk: 384024
Pilot Bearing: 43001 (They may not have this one available)
Throw Out Bearing: N1716
It shows that it fits a '73 - '95
rumor has it that a Luk from Napa is the same as a Centerforce 1. If you need a new one I'd get one of those (you know, since I'm guessing Aisin/ASCO never made one for that application :))
See, ovals.
mmm star crunch.
Hellz Yes!
Fuel Cell. Would this work (~14 gallons)

I found out the other day that they are making a thin mint-flavored moon pie. I have to have one!
and I could really use some coco loco right now :flipoff2:
I don't mind carrying a small spare tank full on the trailer as long as I have enough to last a good solid day. Even when we were in Co., we were always back at camp. I just don't see the Beast as an 'expedition' type vehicle.
luk makes most of centerforce's clutches
That tank should work just depends on the pick up style and baffling
what no propane?
I think I have talked them back into putting the dual mixer propane setup on it! I think I am going to have to do awful, awful things for Flem to get him to still work on it though. :(
List of ****...
Gears for 60 (they are trashed pretty good right now) and rear axle shafts for the 70 (Yukon is a sponsor of the event and I should be able to get them at a discount/free I hope)
New Flange for front of atlas (from high angle, this will make it easier to remove the shaft if needed)
Power Steering Pump (psc)
starter (get from napa for the warranty)
20" Beadlocks for Claws???
make sure to keep your stock axle shaft so i have some spare when i am wheeling with you
I still have a set of 1451's to put in that I don't plan on changing till I break another stocker. :D
I was thinking, how wide are your rims that you have now? I might want to try and 'borrow' them to get the set of claws. Do you have any rock rings for those rims? I may have a set of the aTm ones at the house for the H1's that could be turned down to fit I think.
brians are 16x10 i think w/o rock rings
There sjould be a brand new psc pump in one of your green rubermaid boxes that live on the trailer
my rims are 16x8, i bet they would work, just let me know if you want to use them
you can get some 46's for a 16 inch rim
