if you know the motor is junk why not wheel the piss out of it till it dies. It is gonna end up as scrap regardless. Have some fun with it
I would jump on cl and find someone who rebuilt a motor or had one rebuilt and never used it. i think there are 3 new 4.o ho's on houston cl right now. that would get you going now and you can keep your old block and build your stroker motor and swap it in in 3 years when you have time again. should be more than adequate for what you are doing, quick and reasonably priced
Still got to put the 1 ton steering back on and retighten everything, then order the custom driveshaft. But it's been a long time coming. Parts and tires sitting for two years. She is finally sitting one 35inch Baja claws and 9.5" of lift. Gunna be the baddest beach rig on Matagorda island.

Nice! Way to stick with it.
Is that really 9.5" of lift? It doesn't look AS tall as it sounds.
Thanks! Yep Its 7.5 inch rubicon express coils with 2 inch spacers. On Serious Offroad long arms. It really doesn't look as tall in the pictures as it really is. But the bottom of the door is even with my wifes belly button. Its pretty hard to fit 35" on a comanche/cherokee and keep the stock flares.
I can't wait to see the steering.
Looks good man, glad you finaly got it done!
looks good. i personally love as low a cg as you can get. can't you use a set of tj flares on it which are cheap and take the 2" spacers out?
Not a fan of the TJ flares on the comanche. Im going to be leaving it the height as is since it will mostly be a beach truck. 37s are planned for the future. Might look at some flat flares then. Need to post the old tires and rims for sale so I can order the custom drive shaft. Also waitinf for a Tie rod end to come in to finish up the steering. Then ill take it to get aligned. After that its a trip to work to flex it out with the forklift and see how big of bump stops ill need to keep from destroying fenders.
Picked up this hitch grill for $30 new in the box. Cant wait to use it on the beach and at the deer lease.

Got the steering and sway bars on and tightened everything up for a little test drive to let every settle to see where it sits. It definitely drives like a different truck now. I thought I was pretty close on the length of where the long arms needed to be but looks like I was way off, so is the track bar. Needs a lot more dialing in and a alignment, but one step closer to getting it on the beach for the summer to get the last bit of life out of the motor before It gets a rebuild. Also Went to put the front drive shaft on but couldn't find the bolts or straps, so got some more coming from rock auto, but it looks like the length is still going to be fine and it will work.
