Unless I get talked into it somehow, the Ford will most likely not be going.
So its pretty much impossible for me to get enough money to have the D44 in before the trip...
Open diffs, and a weak rear axle?
If you get stuck or break, we'll get you out.
take it, im running the 35 in the rear of my xj and its welded, open diffs wont be nearly as hard on that axle, and a light foot will help keep from breaking it
if worse comes to worse, there are plenty of people to pull you off and out, and we can always tie a tree up against the side of the tire and pour oil to keep it going :flipoff2:

saw that in petersons the other day and immediately thought of these fixes
I'll bring a spare 35C shaft that I have sitting around - just make sure to break the passenger side if you break...
damnit... i should have made that!
but seriously... why would you buy that?
"i know my axle sucks... instead of paying for a spare shaft ill spend my $100 plus shipping on this bar that will limp my ass back, ... then i can buy another shaft"
then you have to carry it around with you all the time.
I think it would be cool to have as a club. That way you could throw it on a newbs tire real quick and get the fawk out of there. Tree branches work too I guess.
