I bet you never bust any, but why don't you write CTM an email and see how cheaply you can get a new cap? Seems like a stupid part to kludgeQuote:

I went out to the shop today... i tinkered around with a couple things. I decided to try and hook up the t-case shifter linkage. It was a good ol time... there is a lot to that sum*****. But I did get it all in. I still need to go back and put a nut on a bolt that is like imposible to reach and replace some 5/16 bolts with 3/8 ones to kill the slack. I also might shorten the linkage to the front case shifter a inch or two. the lever is just too low for my liking. It did feel nice to actually be able to shift through all the positions... man there are a lot of them with 3 shifters. that is all for probably a couple more weeks maby months... i really need to sell some stuff... i cant even buy a dollar worth of hardware to polish up what i did today until i sell something. oye veh
ok so i lied yesterday about not going to the shop for a long time... i went there today and installed the floor shifter. it was a pita. all i have to do to it now is trim and install the plastic cover that makes it look pretty and maby ajust the linkage a little bit. i took some pictures of both it and the tcase shifters. I will get them up later... maby tonight
Linkage and me shifting the sticks around into the different ranges
floor shifter and linkage
now the only other thing i need to locate in that area is the cutting brake levers... i think they are gonna be closer to the seat so i dont have to lean forward at all
oh here are two more of the t-case linkage. this is one of the brackets that makes the 205 rear yoak shift work
looking good
worked on it a little today... I tried to fix my press but it doesnt work too well. then i bolted down the floor pan and trimmed it more for the transfercase shifters... ghettoed the boots on them and then modified the plastic cover for the tranny floor shifter... so that is down other than wiring the light on it up... but since there is no other wiring it is gonna have to wait..., I also took off the factory column shifter
I went and got new ball-joints today. I had no idea how much they cost so I asked Austin while I was talking to him. He said like $60 each (x4 = 240) and i was like hell no. well luckily he was wrong. I got new lifetime warrenty uppers and lowers for $135 after tax. I was a little more comfortable with that price.
well when in town the other day i installed the new ball-joints. I learned that using the loaner tool from the parts store makes life 20 million times easier... wish i would have done that to get them out. i got the knuckles on and went ahead and put the whole front end together minus the center section and shafts. I was curious to see the lockouts in. they look good and dont stick out at all... it is nice. My old warn hubs stuck out like 2 inches. Next time I come to town i will buy bearings and set the gears front and rear and get that all done with. But overall I had a very productive time in cs. I spent 12 hours clearing out 1830 lbs of stuff to bryan iron ($80 in my pocket) and two bed loads to the dumpster. and I organized the remainder of the stuff along with getting the bronco in rolling condition again. I think the day was a success. That is all for now.
