Love those weekends. Very productive when home alone.
Gauges installed and wired, motor makes 30lbs of oil pressure while cranking, start will be next weekend hopefully.
Then I can go back to actual fabrication
Its Alive!!!!!!!!!
Now back to drivetrain, rear suspension and building a floor
Man, if I knew for sure we were going to get rained out monday, I'd come up saturday to drink beer and watch you work!
how long till the smokey burnout?
probably another couple of months until i finish up the rest
left to finish:
Driveline work:
Buy and install new intermediate shaft for doubler
Flanges and driveshafts F/R
Sheetmetal work:
Build floor
Rebuild firewall around air cleaner
Rear Suspension:
cut out temporaries
make new upper link and axle side mounts
make new lower links and frame mounts
mount shocks
Misc.
Repair / reroute broken brake lines
re-route steering lines
replace rear calipers w/ Chevy calipers
upgrade master cylinder
hook up line lock
re install interior
After it is running and driving I would like to build a new cage but that will wait
I will probably paint the entire thing at some point
intermediate shaft just arrived. WE are getting closer
Woo hoo!
Rod ends have been ordered for the rear suspension and front track bar.
If they come in Saturday it should be back to being a roller by the end of the weekend.
I have also started painting the fenders I build several years ago.
Whats left after putting the rear suspension back together:
fix brakes and steering
Build floor
patch firewall/ air intake
t-case flanges, driveshafts, yokes
Reinstall interior
1 1/4 heims from ruff stuff came today. They are pretty sweet. I also cut part of the existing cage out because it was in my way so I guess i will be building a new full roll cage.
Jeep SHOULD drive out of the garage next weekend. I just a few things to finish up and double check it it should be ready to drive around the block.
Bad as$! The beast was lonely on the trail last weekend!
Getting Closer. Moved the jeep back and forth under its own power today in the garage. I have verified that I did indeed put the transmission together as it at least has reverse 1st and 2nd gears. I also wired the electrical fans
Short list of things to finish up before I pull it out of the garage on Saturday hopefully. Unfortunately one of those things is to clear all of the crap that has been piled into the garage blocking its way out.
