i wouldnt count on having a lot of extra money after graduation for toys... you have to be more responsible after college... it sucks but it true... spend now on something... dont waist your time on a beater xj
Well not everyone plans on being engaged and having responsibilities associated with the such i.e.(mortgage, kids, whatnot) right out of college. I don't think many of us have money to spend on something now while still in school. The key is to stay single after college so you can afford to buy toys and the like before settling down.
No the key is to rack up massive credit card debt while in college so you can have fun while there's fun to be had and then later use it as an excuse to put off marriage and all that other boring old guy stuff.
some of you guys are wise beyond your years. Robbie on the other hand... :D
i have to quote jordan on this, Why not? Its cheap!
as long as you can be a joo about it, build it.

tommys xj is free... as long as he can keep the 4wd conversion and other stuff under 1k, I think it is a good idea. probably won't find something better than that under 1500
if it wasn't free, then I probably wouldn't do this, I plan on trying to keep the whole build to less than 300 for parts, then find a lift from somewhere for couple of hundred and do some custom metal work for it like the front bumper, rock sliders, rear bumper, and skid plates.
