  :flipoff2:
we went and looked @ a `78 F150 reg. cab long bed in Bryan today. the body was kinda rough, no dents or anything, just needs some paint. it had a 351M bored .020 w/ 10.5:1 flat top pistons, moly rings, etc, rebuilt ~10000 miles ago, NP435, NP205 xfer case, 9" and Dana 44 combo. VERY good working order. drives really smooth over the highway w/ nice tight steering. the guy wants $4000 for it and she's thinking about making an offer.really good truck, well maintained and rarely off-roaded (the guy said they used the four wheel drive maybe 3 times in the past two years, hubs still turned freely). any final thoughts, things to look out for, etc??? TIA.
search is over...kate picked up that `78 today...going back to pay for it friday :D...we'll have pics up sometime soon. Four wheel drive works, WELL, and damn if that 1st gear isnt a hoss in 4-LO :D. First order of business is to go thru and change all the gearbox fluids, prolly replace the belts....damn V-belts :flipoff2:...next is to put in a CD player and some door speakers. Chrome trip needs some new clips, and a few panel peices need tightening. I'm sure she's got a list a mile long already...some things i've heard already include lift, 35"s, bedliner, paintjob.....more to come.
congrats on the new truck kate... i wanna see it
Thanks darlin...I love (it's a far cry from the gas-conserving, reliability of the cavalier, but there's just no comparison)....it's all paid for and officially mine as of yesterday :D Think I'm gonna have to take off that cb antenna so I dont fvck it up driving in and out of the damn parking garage - ah well, at least it fits in there, so no complaints :rolleyes:Quote:
