can you get them out of sinc? maybe when you put the cv back in it is out of phase w/ the inner and is binding
yeah and it only took me 3 years to break a dana 30 so what are you trying to say.
anways, do you have the ARB in the front yet? if so I would check it first
it sounds like the CV is binding somehow, we need pictures
as long as it almost ruined your company computer than I have done my good deed for he day. :D
but being that it is sunday, you better not have your ass at work like other dumbasses I know, and better have a line you are gettin ready to wet, or lots of wrenches to turn. :D
Not to self if you wedge tire between two rocks

Wow. Neat find Grayson.
For 2k, thats not bad
So for the past four months my truck has had some weird bind in it. Finally got around to taking a look at it with a couple Toyota mechanic buddies and after taking it apart and reassembling I think my front Lock-Rite has done blowed up.
I have three choices:
1) Replace said Lunch box locker - $300?
2) Replace with ARB - ~$1200
3) Let it sit for about 8-10 months and collect parts for Solid Axle Swap - $1000 - $3000
:D
it is probably just the pins which you can get for like $18 and takes a couple of hours. I would just replace those and call it good for now

thats easy number 3
id say 3 or maybe this is a good reason to sell it and get some thing else :flipoff2:
yeah but you have to have a welder at the house already
this doesn't feel right but...
without Rowdy I don't think we would have ever made it :shakeheadindisgust::gigem:
This is a great idea, if at this point I felt like getting my diff out of there. Between my skids and pulling a front diff in a taco, that is half a day right there. :(
No matter what this situation is going to sit in the driveway for a little while.
And no Brian I ain't selling the thing. Jackass. :flipoff2:
And I was leaning towards Number 3 also... :D
I think this is my motivation to start saving for the Swap. I have the new (to us) beater 40 to wheel for a while and the Taco ain't costing me anything to sit in storage at the Ranch for a while until I have an axle and all the suspension and steering sorted out. Decisions, decisions...
from my experience, trail gears quality control is not par with the other companies, spend the extra.
personally id just buy a marlin kit and be done with it, given you have the cash.
Don't forget yanking the shafts so you can get the diff out. I'd say sell it if you can't find the time to fix something this simple, or just pay to have it fixed and get on with it. SAS is the correct way to fix this problem, the IFS **** evidently doesn't work.
That would be great if this was a 4Runner or a Truck, but it ain't it is a Tacoma. Little more difficult to do a swap. No Marlin kit. I think all-pro has a coil over kit that is way more money than i will ever spend, but there are a couple other places that have some spring hanger kits ready to go, I just need to start researching.
