This is my favorite part:
"The 300tdi has a design life of 200 000km (according to some sort of industrial standard) and the 2.8i has a design life of 300 000km according to the same scale."
****ty life span aside, what is this "some sort of indistrial standard" ? sounds credible
International Like IH? You don't have anything to worry on design life if that's the case.
international as in navistar...the same people that brought you the 6.0L powerstroke....you may want to worry a little bit...
Supposedly that was Ford's fault not navistar. I read somewhere that Ford pushed for the specifics of the 6.0 even though Navistar said it was a bad idea and that they would not warranty the engines. When the engines started f'ing up, Navistar wouldn't honor the warranty and Ford sued. I don't remember the rest.Quote:

I think I'll be needing something like that in the future :gigem:
kickass miata engine Grayson, an injection system like this would be good on the Black Panther (note the K&N pre filter)

Would this work?
yeah that would work. I could bolt up my R380 behind it...problem is it's only 67 hp and I doubt it would push my truck past 55 mp w/ 35" tires and higher gears. They were turds. 200tdi is a lot better It will be intersting to see what it goes for. I bet it does for over a $1k. for that kinda money you could find a 12v cummins and I could sell my R380 to you ad buy a NV4500 and a t-case adapter.
did you get the 727 adapter? the green truck isn't there anymore.
nah, I didn't have the time to go over there and pullin a tranny and t-case in the dirt didn't sound like too much fun. I went over there and looked at it and asked the guys if I could just buy the whole thing. If I could have done it my way it would involve removing all good body parts and flipping it over on it's side w/ the fork lift for easy access :D
went for $987....wow thats a lot of money for 67 hp

I really don't understand the fascination with the stock diesel swaps. It looks like everyone that has one admits they are slower than a even a 3.5, aAnd with as many accountant and financial types as there are into these vehicles, 25mpg after at least $8000 conversion (for a shop to do it) seems like an odd justification. You could buy 2 new 4.6's from rovers north for that. Some of the d-90 source people even take their tdi converted trucks to the dealer for service. Do the dealer parts warehouses even stock that stuff?
Not to mention diesel is up to $.50 more per gallon right now. Man that pisses me off.
ouch, I won't tell ya what I pay for my jp-8 then :flipoff3:
