I always thought a selectable locker would be cool in the front until I got hydro assist. I always liked my full detroit on the street because I could turn it sharp in the parking lot and make the tires go chirp chirp chirp, or let off the gas in while I turned and not notice it at all. Selectable lockers just seem like **** to fawk up.

Its a 4 cyl, with an auto. My DD.
I will be doing a gear swap at the same time.
I am choosing to run a selectable in the back because I drive to Colorado regularly in the winter/summer. (I've heard auto lockers can be a handful in the Ice/snow.) In the front I want to run a Tru-trac. It should work great on snow/ice, and not effect turning radius as much. I will also assume it wont create as much stress that a locker would in the front. (less chance of breakage). It is also roughly $500 cheaper than a selectable, that is enough for an M8000.
I think I'm pretty set on the Tru-trac in the front, although an auto is tempting... I would probably go selectable front/rear but I don't make the money I used to, and I have allot of other things I need to take care of.
I am set on a selectable rear, I just can't decide between the OX and the ARB. The ARB does have a larger following, but it seems like allot more to keep up with. (not to mention another good chunk for the compressor) They both have there pro's and cons.
I do wish I would have listened to Creighton and taken the 4.56's he had though...

what do you guys think of this.
i need some advice, i sold some guy the amc 20 arb, it worked when i took it out. people saw it work at trees. he sends me the pic saying that because of this "crack" it is worthless and will not hold air. he wants his money back. is that even a crack? would it really not hold air?

i still have 4.56's for the dana 30 but the 44 gears have been sold but they aren't hard to find.
dont go with a tru trac unless it is a drop in locker. i would go with an aussie locker yes they do suck in 4wd in the snow but they are not too bad just have to give it gas when you turn sharp to get the front to pull.

when ordering rp for the dana 30 the sites are specifying if it's a "short pinion d-30", I don't think they are, it should just be d-30 27 spline standard rotation, right?
-
I think short pinion is the tj 30
-
search the part number on 4wheel parts or quadratec. but short pinion sounds like TJ stuff

After talking to two vendors in a row who no longer carried Ox's because they "no longer believed in the product", I have decided to go ARB's front, and rear. (until next time I change my mind.)

Would you pick...
Tabor 9k @ $590
or
M8000 @ $530
