I'm pretty sure that is what they call the bore diameter and yes they do have to be the same. I would look up the part descriptions on someones website and see what it said. I remember having to match the bore size when of the yj master when I switched to the corvette one.
No. Bore size is the diameter of the hole for the piston. In these swaps, what you're trying to do is get a bigger bore to push more fluid for the bigger brakes.
As far as will it work, I wouldn't know. Will it bolt up? Is that the one everyone else uses? If so, get to searching the pirate and the google to see if anyone else has had the issue.
ya that makes sense kopeckers. I remember it being like 1 1/8" on mine which is smaller than the OD he had circled.
The mounting flange looks bigger on the new one (but it could be the angle of the pic). Same app as the swap on pirate4x4?
it bolts up fine and it is the one everyone else uses. just doesnt seem right to me
that area that you circled is going to be bigger because the MC has a bigger bore therefore a larger piston.
it is right bolt it up and go
if you haven't seen this. . .

Pulled the Oil pan to put the new one on and the Oil Pickup is a little smashed. Do I need to replace it or just leave it. It isnt that bad and doesnt seem to limit flow.
The pickup assembly is 16 bucks at oreilly...just do it.
Made a little progress on the jeep today.
-installed new Oil Pan (no leaks yet cross fingers)
-installed new Master Cylinder
-Got Fuel lines plummed and gas tank secured
-reinstalled factory tail lights(temporary fix until i find some flush mounts I like)
-got 3-link brackets welded up to the frame
I started it up for the first time in many months. sounds good without a muffler but it will see an exaust shop as soon as it is mobile.
I just ordered the PSC Full Hydro, Austin is gonna pick it up from Lance's house and bring it down next weekend.
Austin will be in town tomorrow night and we are determined to get the jeep mostly done this weekend. Clayton is only a few weeks away and my jeep is gonna make it damnit. Goals for the weekend are brake lines and bleed system, full hydro setup, finish up front suspension, transmission crossmember, transfercase shifter. The. All I will have left is set front gears, exaust, and driveshafts. I think that is prettymuch it.
Hell yeah! Do work son!
Yeah, but you didn't have Austin on the job did you? :flipoff2:
