Lynda's "CJ" Buildup Progress

OK - some updates.
I have a pic of how the rear upper shock mounts look on the rig - mounted to the cage tie-ins.

Started to cover up the hole in the floor this weekend. It's coming out pretty good. The plate that covers the driveshaft will be removable - the top of the "box" will be a piece of bolted in Aluminum.

Looks good, good thought on the bolted aluminum for access.

hmm, i may have to cut a door in my floor.

No, it's for bling. He's going to polish it up all shiny like. :)

Pulled the cage out so I can finish welding on it.
Started taking everything apart for paint.
I got all of the welding and sanding done on the floor sheet metal. I should be able to get the AL cover done tonight.

Did you end up using a mechanical clutch bellhousing with some kind of aftermarket bracket to mount the slave cylinder? Who's steering arms are you using?

The "flames" (its early) on the aluminum look sweet. grinder?

yep for the bellhousing, I used Parts Mike for the arms. They are the springless style.
"flame" look were done with a grinder, kind've

I got the cage, frame, main skid, fuel tank skid, oil pan skid, and a bunch of little stuff to the powder coaters on Friday.

Made a oil pan skid. It mounts to the engine and to the main skid plate via a rubber bushing.

finished the main skid gussets too

I hope to get all of the body work done, and paint it in the next three weeks - before the cage and frame come back - and hopefully before the baby comes...
