Got the hardware for the radius arm caps today and managed to clean out all the threads in the radius arms so that the bolts will thread all the way in. Taking the radius arms to work tomorrow so I can use the impact and get the brackets off of the arms.
I wish I could change the title and maybe even the location of this thread now but whatever. I got a lot done at work tonight on the truck. Got the nuts off the radius arms. Got all the hardware i should need. cleaned out the threads on two spring cup holes. drilled out and managed to turn out one old siezed spring cup hole. drilled out and tapped the last spring cup hole. Also borrowed a few sockets that will hopefully fit my pitman arm nut - anyone know what that is off hand? Aso borrowed a 1/2 inch bit to drill holes in the frame - we will see how it holds up
Also got the gears for the rear to match and a tru trac last night
Anyone have any suggestions for locating and marking holes? I am thinking about bolting the axle up to the arms and springs, let the weight down on it and then see where the brackets end up. Then i guess eyeball the center of one hole - punch it, pilot hole, big hole. then bolt that up to drill through the bracket for the rest of the holes.
Next few big things -
get tire and mount
dril holes in frame
swap pitman arm
clean up and paint parts
fab track bar mount
all for now
sounds good, wish I lived in CS to help you ouit
****ty weather sucks - i want a shop...
