The package says 2 feet above the body of the truck. So i just have to move it up like 1 foot
So i have been looking up ground planes and there is not really a good solution to this problem except to buy a no ground plane antenna. This is designed for vehicles with fiberglass bodies or no good places to mount an antenna. So, i plan on selling my current setup and buying one of these.
