What are you stroking it to? Any plans to run boost on it? Oh and by the way, there is a complete 437 stroker on Houston CL for 3K; way less than you'll be able to build that motor for.

Anyone got any help for my superduty locking hub problems I have explained here

the 05'+ sd stuff would be the only way to upgrade using factory stuff but every thing from the knuckle out would have to be swapped as they are 35 spline, use bigger brakes and use a different offset wheel. the warn kit is the cheapest best upgrade you can make to the early sd front.
throw the ford factory junk in the trash.
Ho' Riellys carries the warn replacements. Replaced them a few months ago on a '99 F250.
Id like to lower the COG of my jeep. I have the RE 5.5in LA. Is shorter springs the only thing i need?
I will take those springs off your hands if you do this
Youll be first in line if i can find some 4'' springs. My idea is to get my jeep a little bit more stable on the highway(ya right...i know) so lower it and maybe put smaller tires on it. I even considered trading it in
sway bars in place?
Still have the stock sway bars in place, yes.
check all your bushings... things tend to wear out and make things wobbly
Wait what? I just asked if springs were all I needed to lower the ride height and if I need to make other adjustments.....
RE 3.5" springs are more like 4". Even more like 4.5" until they settle.
What track bars are you running? You will most likely need to adjust them, assuming they are adjustable.
RE long arms appear to be adjustable, so assuming you have adjustable track bars it should be fine.
I missed this yesterday, are you having some issues? Or are just tired of driving a Jeep?
If you put in a 3"-4" spring you could keep your 35"s, you will just need to adjust your bump stops/trac-bars .
You could go even lower to 2"-3" if you wanted to do a little trimming or add some tube fenders... Even go to stock height with 35"s if you went highlined.
Just throwing out some options before you decide you want to trade it in...
I dont have the scratch for a newer ride so im having to make do with what ive got. ill probly just get shorter springs and maybe the highline kit.
u dont need a kit to do hiline. just a sawzall and a steady hand and a little fab
Is there any reason why a leaf spring center pin does not tie in also to the u-bolt plate? Since the new center pins I got were not fully threaded, I had to slap the ubolt plate on there, a washer and the nut. I do not see why this would be an issue, but figured I would ask.
I don't see a reason why this would be bad, except for the fact that you'll have a tad more work to do if you want to swap springs or axles in the future. This is most likely the reason why manufacturers don't attach the center pin to the spring plate, there are just to many variables (spring width, shock mounts, axle tube diameter).
Dana 60 outer axle shaft "slinger"? Needed or no? It fits onto the shaft, but then the seal I typically use won't work then. It is the Ford seal. Do inner spindle seals differ GM v. Ford?
I need help freeing up pistons. I've used penetrating oil, brake cleaner and used DEX/MERC because that's what I had sitting around, but in almost 2 weeks nothing has changed.
You're an idiot
A little more info about the motor? pull the headds and beat them out? start from scratch?
Thanks! You could help me not be an idiot or just call me an idiot, either way is cool with me. I find it funny you're hiding under a new account.
It's a 5.8 and I've got the heads off. I don't care about the pistons I just didn't want to mess the block up at all. I guess I'll try to pull the crank out and try to beat them out of the block with my bfh. This is the block I am using for my stroker motor that will eventually end up in my mustang. The cylinders will be bored .030 over so if the cylinders get messed up a little I guess that's fine.
What?
How did you plan on hurting the block by knocking out pistons? If the pistons are froze chances are the cylinders will have some pitting. You said you were going to make it a stroker motor so you said you would be boring it .030 over (so light pitting will be no issue here) and changing the crank. The motor needs to come apart regardless, beating the pistons (which you obviously plan on replacing) will in no way "hurt" the block. In some cases the pitting wont clear up even by going .060 over and thus a sleeve would need to be installed. Also, if moisture got to the cylinders chances are moisture got to the mains and rod bearings. They could also be stuck so all the forces combined you would not be able to turn it over by hand. You are an idiot for dicking around with atf, penetrating oil, and brake cleaner for 2 weeks on a motor that needs to be disassembled anyway, which i am willing to bet will never be reassembled and will almost certainly end up as scrap in Bryan Iron.
No one is assuming a false identity under this User Name.
This only my second time tearing down an engine and the first time dealing with stuck pistons, so I wanted to make sure I didn't mess the block up at all. My bad for asking about it instead of diving into it. This won't end up at bryan iron and I'm glad that you know me so well you think it will. This isn't ending up in some trashed out off road rig that doesn't matter much so I'm taking my time with it and trying to do everything right.
i like where this is going:argue:
I forgive you
Another Robert? Jesus.
Keiswetter?:confused2
Lemon juice.
Ky yours and mine it's a win for both you and the motor!!!
who is ag rob11?
me, I set up a new screenname to accurately reflect my completion date
how many are stuck? you got the crank out right? I think you have the ATF and brake cleaner on the wrong side of the piston. rotate it 180 and wait a few more days then beat the **** out of them with a drift and hammer
How about introduce yourself in the newbie thread?
