does gravity bleeding really work or is it another redneck myth like batteries on the ground draining and tail lights backfeeding the ground?
All calipers were open
I'm with Flem. I don't understand why gravity bleeding would work unless you had bad piston seals in the master cylinder.
It works on some and doesn't on others. I've found if the lines are dry all the way to the master it sometimes won't work.
sounds like a good idea only if you live in the desert
I concur. I will get to that tomorrow. I just found out today that ballistic fab is pushing my order another week. I won't have shock towers until late next week. I went ahead and pulled the 60 and loaded it in the bed of the dodge to take and have the gears set. When the towers get here I'll finally get it in full roller.
Anyone know a good place to get my gears set in San Antonio/Seguin/Austin area? I was planning on 4Wheel Parts SA because I talked to Joel a few weeks back. He quoted me $200-250 price to set up gears out of vehicle without installing shafts and such. I went to drop it off today and he said it would be about $465 and take atleast two weeks. I was like WTF. He said last month they had a half price Labor. Ass never mentioned that to me then. I would have dropped it off last week if I knew that. The worst part is that he remembered talking to me and still wouldn't work with me. Now I am on the hunt for a place that can do it in that price range and in a timely manner. I need this done with plenty of time to set up front before next month.
Nope sorry. I do know that J&P standard transmission in CS will do it or $150 labor and it takes then two days. It might be worth your time and money to take the drive. Just a thought. Good luck finding a place.
I can do a better job than them. i had to deal with them when they couldnt figure out austin's rear 60. they set up my old ttb 44 but had no idea what it was when I brought it in as a 3rd member
Not saying they have, but maybe, they have changed sense the last time you worked with them? I had my d-44 setup by them and colman and corey had diffs set up with no horror stories. Also JB got some trans work done there if I am not mistaken (could be) and Cook had great success with getting lots of free d-shafts and yokes from them just because we bull****ted for a while with the guy.
I pulled the master and got it bleed. The problem is it only pushes fluid when vertical. I took it apart and all gaskets seem good. I am going to go swap it for a new one. It has to be messed up
