hmmmm night runs??? sounds like a thursday evening/night run for us thatll be unloading trailers thursday.... this link i previously posted makes it seem like a place for a good variety of rigs
"Thanks for the help in getting the number. We are planning a club run there in Feb and enjoy a good night run to his land to warm things up. We usually hit Green Acres on Saturday and Sunday."
can christmas lights be 12v?
How many strings can a 130a alternator handle?
LED lights draw a negligible amount of amperage so go nuts TumTum.
So about 10 days to go. Bets going on who backs out last second?
:flipoff2:
Jason, I wouldn't mind Frielings on Thursday. I PM'd the guy on Pirate about directions to the place south of town.
I vote we run Frieling's on Friday and Green Acres on Saturday!
Info on the 2 trails south of town that use to include 3 stage. It is probably not worth towing everything down there, but I might just drive my truck down there and check it out if I get there early enough.

I usually run the trails about once a year, but quite honestly it is a long way to go to only run 2 trails. Head South on 271 towards clayton lake state park, about 5 miles and after 9 Pine Rd and the State Park, you will take a left on Wildwood Rd. It is a dirt road and goes through a housing addition, BE SURE TO GO SLOW!! Keep going past the houses all the way to the cell tower. After the cell tower keep following the road. If you want to go to Snake Pit you will take the first right to get there, keep going down the trail and stay left every time it splits until you get to the creek crossing, that is Snake Pit. It is a creek bed like Green Mamba. Go all the way until the power line, then you have to turn around and come back out the way you came in. DO NOT GO OUT THE POWERLINE. That is private property and off limits. They have called the game warden in the past and will do it again if they see you. There is a house on the side of the hill that they can see who is on it.
If you do not want to go to Snake Pit keep goign and you take the second left which is the entrance of Rock Creek. It is not clearly marked and can be hard to find. After taking a left you will go down the mountain until you get to a big slab, that you cannot go over the middle of unless you want to run the risk of rolling. Just after that you will see an opening to your right and that will be Lost Creek. If you go past that, you will see a Green and White sigh that says posted Hurliman Mountain or something like that, turn around and go back because on the other side of that sign is private property.
After taking a right on Lost Creek, keep following it until you come to a dead end with a big tree, that is K Trail, take a right, then take another right at the next fork in the road and that will take you back the way you came in.

Directions to Frielings from Clayton
From Clayton, head Northeast on OK-2/US-271 toward Lawrence and continue to follow OK-2 for approximately 12 miles.
Turn right on OK-1/OK-63 and go approximately 1.5 miles to first county road on left.
Turn left (Cardinal Rd ) and go approximately 1/3 of a mile to the next county road (will be an intersection, with no stop sign).
At this intersection take another left at (Songbird Rd or SE220) and go approximately 1/3 of a mile to the next county road on the right.
Take right (Songbird LP or SE1035th Ave) and follow county road. Pavement will end and turn into private gravel drive. After the getting on the gravel drive, it will go up hill and then make a hard left.
Follow the road up the hill to the entrance of Mr. Frielings
land.
I know how to get to Snake pit and rock creek. I would like to go up 3 Stage. I think that is off limits still.
In 2007 the group I was running the K-Trail with got lost at night and end up running Snake Pit around Midnight. Bunch of IFS Yota's on 33's clanging through that creek bed was bad news bears. Lots of twisted sheet metal, 2 lost beads, a door that wouldn't open and my FJ filled with water to what seemed like the steering wheel. I would love to tackle that stuff now that I have been wheeling for a few years and have a better built vehicle.
Higgs is in. He just called me. Fun stuff!

Well i can't get friday off anymore..... im on the fence.
If I leave Austin at 6:30am Thursday and go through Paris to bypass Dallas (the traffic sucked last year while pullin the trailer and no trailer brakes), I should make it to Clayton by 1:30 according to google. We can head out to Frielings ASAP then and I can just unpack everything that night.
ok, ill know more Monday on when I will be able to make it to Clayton. Absolute latest for me would be early afternoon Thurs like you.
I have been trying to call A&A all day to confirm my reservation but no answer. Seems like everyone supposedly has a room there, so I was slightly worried since I reserver many months ago. If anyone else gets ahold of them, ask him about firewood. Last year he took us to that big pile a few block away, not sure if it was his or what. For whatever reason, Gordons on 21 has a ****ton of firewood in the parking lot, so I could swing buy and see how much he wants.
Not for sure set, but plans are to leave thurs morning, stop in dallas to drop off some **** I dont need and eat lunch, then head to clayton. not sure when ill actually get there
Grayson is out, not sure when/where I'm leaving now. Probably Thursday night, probably from Dallas.
assuming i get my driveshaft fixed by wednesday night i will be headed out of houston first thing thursday morning, otherwise I will head out as soon as I get it fixed thursday
I'm not really sure, I'm here in College Station all year and my parents house is north of Austin in Round Rock so I get to skip Austin traffic.. It is bad on 35 but you can allways take the toll road around austin and it is allways empty, won't cost more than a few bucks and its worth it
I will be leaving college station thursday morning, probably around 9.
edit: if you want to ride with me and my gf your welcome to, I'm sure people will have open trail seats up there
sounds good, I'll be heading to Round Rock this saturday to spend four days welding on my toyota before Clayton, your welcome to come over anytime to wrench, we have a complete shop with lift and everything so just bring welding wire or refill my dads torch tanks if you want to use the expendable things in the garage.
Hey taylor, go ahead and post an intro here so the older guys will know who you are

I finally got ahold of them but the reception was sketchy. He said he was unsure if we could get firewood from that pile. I am about to run down to Gordons and see what they want. Would TAMOR buy some?
Why don't Travis and TumTum cut up and bring some of the wood from the trees they demolished building the dirt track?
80 for half cord. 150 for whole cord. I think it oak. 1/2 would fill a truck bed
