hmmm....and thats not the only buggy ive drawn either... :gigem:
Thats the class I'm taking steven. I have no idea what the projects are in the class, but i figured if i had to draw something, it would be the buggy.Quote:

I'm guessing you have a better program than solidworks to model in since you said it would be hard to do it in solidworks? What are you using to do the tubing? Sweeping a circle around lines and curves?
What program is that with the green buggy steven?
Two reasons I'll be using solidworks is I'll learn it next semester better than I do now and that I have it at home and work. Although, I only have 2001 at home which kinda sucks, but better than nothing. Also, it annoys me that the files are not backwards compatable.
the first picture was done in solidworks 2004(i think maybe 2005 maybe 2003). it can be done but you need to be damn good at solidworks to do it. the second one was done in Catia V5R14 made by desault systems, the same people who make solidworks. however it is WAY more powerful then solidworks, probably the most powerful solid modeler on the market. keep in mind that the more powerful a solid modeler is the less user friendly it is. i have also drawn buggies in ProENGINEER, another very powerful modeler. solidworks is along the same lines as autodesk inventor. both are good for simple things and terrible for complicated things. catia and ProE are the exact opposite.
as for 407, your first project will be done in AutoCAD. it is a pulley assembly and pretty easy. the second project is openended. as i said before i drew a frame, axles, tires, links, hiems, threaded inserts, and coil springs. i will see if i can find a picture of them. i was originally gonna make it a 4-link but due to the fact that the computers are not top of the line, i could only make it a 2-link. i think i got a 129 out of 100 on that project. also make sure you tun in all your drawings one class early, you will get 10 bonus points for doing so and they are relatively easy. i think i had to make a 34 on the final to get an 'A' and if i didn't take the test i had a high 'B'
If you want I have a full copy of Solidworks 2003 I can hook you up with.
ever use soildedge??Quote:
