The Corn Hauler!

While taking my cans to the recycler today to get my $7.54 I not only saw a 4 door ranger from mexico, I saw a 70 K5 blazer. Finfeather is only one way traffic at the moment so I took some backroads between finfeather and So. College. On the way there I took a street I had never taken, and saw a bunch of older trucks and thought, this is where I'm going to find one, a place like this.

So went to the recycler traded in my cans and saw that sweet ranger and on the way home I took different back streets because of inspirational old truck sitings on the way there. Low and behold I see a ****box in the back of a field at an autobody place. Stop in and talk to the owner, says he's going to keep it and restore it someday. I was dissapointed until I saw it. That thing had rust I'd never seen rust on a vehicle.

Oh well the owner of the shop was cool.

The point of this story is the 4 door ranger was cool.

has anyone seen the thing sitting over by the bait shop on HW 21? I just caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye a week ago, but it looks like some kinda really hacked up mini truck with about 2 foot of lift

I saw a 6 door version of those bigass Internaional truck that Union Pacific uses. I dont know what its purpose was but they were replacing the tracks behind my shop while I was home and the truck looked neat.

It's a 77 and if I'm correct I think those are some of the ugliest K5's.

I'm looking for a 69-72.

76-86 are the less desireable blazers. The 69-72 are the first gen body style, which is what Doug is looking for. 73-75 were the newew boxy body style but still had the fully removable top. In 76 they switched to the half removable top. In 87 the came out with fuel injection so the 76-86 ones dont really have anything special about them.

Yeah, those mid to late 70's ones have a funky looking front end, but I do like them for the full removable top. If I was going to build a blazer and couldn't find a first generation, I would take one of those late 70's ones and replace the front clip with the front clip from a 91 burb or blazer. Full removable top and a little less ugly

seems like everone these days that has that style truck converts to the newer front. I kinda like the early front(with billet insert) with the full length hood.

when I first saw them, they didn't bug me that much. But then a friend built a big yellow chevy on boggers and did the billet grill swap. At first it seemed cool, but after a while it just seemed to grow uglier, if that makes any kinda of sense. The odd part was he felt the same way, and was in the process of finding a newer front end when he gave the truck to his dad and bought a superduty.

I say Chevy did a lot of pot/coke from 73-87, you can keep those years. There are a few exceptions now and then, but as a whole they are my least favorite.
