Get some tube and sheet metal and St. John and copy a new Malibu tower.

That is exactly like what I used. My stuff was made by a company called Symons and must be phenolic faced. You can sand on one spot with a power sander for 3-4 minutes and it doesn't go through. It's some pretty tough stuff. The guy still has some sheets left on craigslist up here, I think it will work good.
Floor is done, and the motor is in the boat. Scratching our heads and trying to figure out the wiring.
couldnt you make a jig out of wood to make a long radius bend?
No, apparently they didn't label the wiring when they disconnected everything.
:flipoff2:
Doh!
no, the wiring that ties it into the boat is the same plug. It's the wiring on the motor. I think I remember flem, jimmy, and I drinking beer while tearing it down. Didn't label some of the sending unit wires so much. I'll get it figured out tomorrow night.
Here's a pic of us using the patented BMF Skyhook o' Death getting ready to put the engine and trans in. The other one was the stopping point for the night. Other than waiting on some parts to come in, things seem to be going relatively smooth. Still lots to do after it's running like the interior and the stereo.
Sweet!
Did you guys test the hatch to see if it clears the intake?
they look cooler with the engine sticking out
Nice, I think you should make a new cover out of lexan and paint "lamborghini" on the valve covers
I like this one better

I think you have to be logged in for the photo st.john is talking about to show up, so I'll post it here. I thought for sure it was a photochop at first, but apparently it isn't. Nuts!
wow! how many cubes?
that's sweet. those are some serious water fowl catchers!
(and yes you have to be logged on...I looked through that thread for 20 minutes trying to find a pic of something resembling a boat w/ big turbos...that pic is better than I imagined)
That boat is pretty awesome. Saw it a couple years ago at the marble falls boat races. Definitely sweet turbo action.
It had a bi run that day, so didn't get to see it go hth with one of the blown nitro boats...it did haul ass though.
don't know if this is a good deal or not so I posted it here.
will this work jimmy?

jimmy, did flem deliver the goods?
2 6 1/2s? That can't possibly be enough!
Does it look to anyone else that he used promotional pictures for that stuff???
I don't know. Looks like they might just be ****ty resized and cropped pics that he took. Seems like an decent deal but I don't know. Jimmy is the one pricing the tower, not me. I did however get some work done after coming home from ADC. Brett came over and helped and we've got everything hooked up except for the exhaust, the return fuel line, gas tank, I have to replace a breaker that is bad, fill the transmission, and hook up the battery and it should be ready for a test fire. Hopefully that happens tomorrow night. Oh, and before anyone says anything, yes, one of the plug wires is blue. There was a damaged one and Jimmy didn't want to buy an entire set, so we just took one out of the miscellaneous auto parts box we have and put it on. Oh, and Brett slapped the engine cover on to take a pic. I guess he wanted to see how it looked.

Went with a Taylor tower on our boat, really nice product with an easy/straight forward install. They're located in New Mexico and really knowledgeable, check em' out.

Dead Bald Male Hooker head???
I fixed the engine cover while I was at it. :blackwink:

Propane....riiiiiiight. Where are you getting this bald idea? That's me laying sideways trying to tighten the clamps on the water intake hose.
BWAHAHAHAHAH,
I finally realized how you were layin in the picture. I thought it was two different people for some strange reason...
Kick ass.
Got the rest of the engine buttoned up, fuel system hooked up and 5 gallons of gas in the tank. All the relays click, engine cranks, has spark, but the low pressure pump, that supplies the High pressure pump in the Fuel Control Cell, is no bueno por caca. Damn thing wanted to run but it wasn't to be tonight.
boooo....that sounds like $$$
Anybody recognize this pump as a factory part for any car? It says carter on it, but they wisely made the image small enough not to be able to get a part number off of it.
how much is it?
That guy advertises his tower business on craigslist all the time. I had checked out the Taylor towers, looks pretty good.
