Oh rly?
What does full float axle mean? What is semi float?
Flame suit is on.
short answer?
semi float axles have the hub integral to the axle shaft. full float axles have the hub on a spindle, separate from the shaft. the benefit of a full float is the exle shaft is not in bending, just torsional stress. google for better explanaton and pictures, it will be easier to understand.
Simpler answer

Essentially a "semi-floater" the axle must transmit the load of spinning the wheel and the weight of the vehicle. In a full floater there is a hub or spindle of some sort that holds the weight of the vehicle, thus the axle shaft is only subject to the load from spinning the wheel. Thus the shaft should break less.
A direct quote from Karl if I may...
Karl- "You see Robbie, it turns out you don't have to worry about that when you have 2 spare 351's in your garage..."
I would not try to plasma the tap out as it will likely make things worse.
I will see if my N. Houston Sleeper Cell's mechanic is busy, and if not have him head over your way. He makes McGyver look like Rowdy with a blowtorch. :D
Picture please Karl
i make McGyver look like a b!tch
I have an Iraqi Sleeper Cell positioned in North Houston. There are many personnel in this cell, and they each have varying jobs. One of those is a mechanic. Maybe you have not heard my stories of 'Iraqi Ingenuity', so you may not understand where this comes from. If you have not heard these stories, we must get together over a camp fire and a case (or three) of a brew of your choosing and discuss these things.
The McGyver/Rowdy analogy should be self evident. (see hippies sig for further explanation if needed)
Rowdy is more like that SNL character, McGlover. McGlover always F's things up....
