My happytime isn't running right, I think I am going to take the carb off and just poor gas into it. This should be easier right?

That is just ingorant. Prior to the carb, the technology was a "mixer" of course you will have to install some wieghts on the fly wheel to start and stop the spark. Here is an example on an international....Attachment 18960
I thought scouts had duraspark, guess not. Good upgrade there then. TBI does have the ability to control ignition better than the vacuum/mechanical. You must also have the ability to burn, test, burn 4-5 chips to utilize it.
I want to say that there were a couple of years (78-80?) that did not have the gold box. Not sure what they did run though.
My traveler had that. It was a hall effect sensor instead of a mag pickup. I think the ICM was built in, but I don't remember.
You're right Seth and Flem. There was a bastard hall effect system on some 78-80's. Jimmy's truck originally had this and I remember one time it died and it was like a $200 module that melted. Luckily he had a buddy who worked at Napa that helped him out on that.
Man, you get the three of us in one room and things could get unstable!
Isn't it always like that when we get together in the same place? :D
So since you're hocking the dual fuel setup are you keeping the TBI or going back to a straight carb?

Craftsman cordless impact. 200 ft/lbs.
I'll mainly use it for trail repairs, tire changing ect. I rotated the jeep tires with it today. Seemed to do pretty well.
It was on sale for $99. Regular price was $140.
I have the small impact driver from craftsman, I like it, if you can afford the 19.2 lithium battery it is bad arse.
not a 79 but if you're still waning to ruin your bronco
