Sweet, I guess you enjoy the car. It gets good mileage on the highway too, 26ish if I remember correctly

AWESOME! Brandini in the House!!!
funny thing is that I haven't even gotten it back yet. Should be ready in the next week or so.
Seth was talking about going, if is boss will let him go.
Holy shi-take', Green Lantern. The awesomeness factor may have just went plaid!
I could start us out with a keg of oatmeal stout (Breckenridge or I could run up to Longmont and get a Lefthand), or agave wheat, or sawtooth...
can someone bring a tap?
ill bring a tap
sweetness. Doug a keg is a keg.
Sawtooth is $122.99/16 gal!

edit: Turtle Rock? I don't know anything about it either, other than that a friend recommended it and I can't find much on the internet, which hopefully means not too many people know about it. We have to bring our own water and may have to set up a portajohn...but I would prefer that to sharing a site, especially considering how many people we have
wtf? no showers, f- that! that may be ok for you hippies, but i use soap and deoderant like at least once a quarter!

alright princess, why don't you give those kampgrounds a call and see if they've got parking for 3 ginormous trailers. Might as well stay at the Super 8 and meet us on the trail. I'm bathing in creek water. Maybe you could take the money you save on that campsite and buy the group a solar shower
hey im all for roughing it. But 17 stank ass dudes all taking beer sh!ts in "portajohn" is not exactly my idea of a good time. Additionally we will be there on Wed. so we can get good spots and parking etc. Given the amount of wheeling in the area, i highly doubt it will be odd for us to show up with three trailers.

this place has a group camping area for $8/per person per night
I'll email them about reservations and trailer parking. Most places have places for horses and rv's, i bet they have trailer parking.
Check this out. It has group sites away from the rest of the resort. Probably worth checking out!
those two look like the best bets, for us. Except for the young life campground, im sure they would love us there. Your thoughts on this eric.
edit: lady says the group campsite at chalk creek is not available, but she can give us two sites side by side....let's see what arrowhead says to doug.
Nobody will mess with a bunch of redneck trucks and trailers parked up in the mountains. Would you wander into a camp and start messing with stuff, not knowing if someone might be taking a nap in one of the tents? There are creeks everywhere. The Arkansas river (along which I am guessing these campgrounds are located) will probably be blowing up with flyfishermen when we are there, and they are likely to care about late-night partying and shenanigans. Also a more likely place to get the cops called on us. We will OWN turtle rock or one of the other campsites for the weekend if we claim it Wednesday, meaning we can make big fires, play music, shoot stuff and drink late into the night and nobody will care.
your box is full.
some other concerns i have. What do we do if when we get there the campsite is taken? Its kind of hard to find a place that 15-17 people can camp.
Do we know that a 40' trailer can make it to these sites?
I can see this being fun if there were 4 of us, but with the amount of people and trailers we have, i see having reservations at a place we know about being alot better.
The places with the group camping have the large areas set aside from everything else cause they know you'll be loud. We've stayed at places like this with larger and much more retarded groups than this without incident.
what about if we make reservations at one of these places. We stay there on wed, and go check out turtle rock. If it looks good and is available we'll just say something came up and cancel our reservation. It says at both places there is a one night charge plus $20 for late cancellation. That is like $8-10/piece to insure at the very least we have a place to stay.
Thoughts?
ill second Jerry's idea of making a reservation and cancelling it.
But I would like to camp at turtle rock if possible
go for it. Nothing wrong with a backup plan. I honestly don't have a huge preference on where we camp. It's going to be fun regardless, and you guys will have a lot more invested in the trip than I will...if I don't like the way the trip goes I'll go back the next weekend.
I told you last time Eric, I am not going to let you in my tent if you can't maintain atleast minimum personal hygiene... :flipoff2:
[wiping a tear away]I dont know when the last time somebody has said something that nice about me![/wiping tear]
:gigem:
ok well lets do that. Let me get the "daily rate" from these people and see what arrowhead tells doug.
If we can get a group campsite at arrowhead we can revisit this.
Otherwise we can go straight to turtle rock on wed. and if it looks good tell whoever we have reservations with to hug a nut.
Have I mentioned the Cottonwood Lake area for camping? Another recommendation from a friend down there.

is this the turtle rock. Other than saying there is a campground on the east side not a whole lot of info. Seems cool.
yep that's the one. Looks like a prime beer drinkin location, doesn't it? :)

here is a map, looks to be in the same area as carnage canyon and chinaman gulch. That might be nice so we dont have to load everything on trailers that day.
THere is a big ass river to swim in as well so im fine with that.
Im down for this place, my main concern at this point is just that we have a place to stay. So we can go ahead with the reservation/cancel and just plan on staying here.
there are a fvck ton of campsites in that little area, fvck a reservation. Just make sure we (me, ED, creighton) have directions to those other places in your pm in case these don't work out but I think we should be fine.
I get to Eric's ass!
I saw that map a few days ago, but apparently I was retarded and didn't find anything on it. I'm with jerry now, **** the reservations. Hell at the worst it looks like you could just camp on the side of the road if necessary! Eric, can you really shoot guns out there?
If anyone wants to coordinate camping gear, should we start an email list so there isn't a bunch of bull****ing on it?
I gave Ed that information weeks ago (you know, when he was planning the trip, and Creighton and him were the only ones coming?), and he was content with it :)
