are the spark plugs making a 'spark'.

spark is accumulated/ generates in the coil and is then distributed by the distributer (unless it is new with multi coils but that is another lecture). the rotor inside the cap spins in time with the motor and sends the spark to the correct spark plug wire to the corresponding cylinder. so the motor has to be turning over or running to see if you have spark

No way in hell did you spell that correctly without looking it up first.

Make sure that yout coil/ingnition module is getting power those vehicles have all kinds of fusible liknks hidden places

Now that you mention it, when I first installed the new battery and new alternator, I put the voltmeter to the battery and was reading like 17.8 volts... It seemed a bit high, but I didn't think twice about it until now.
