Blazer Revival 2005!

Nice... spendning more than I want too, but what the hell, we only live once right?

Just ordered, u-bolts, bumpstops, and a nice new shiney forged 1350 yoke.

u-bolts surprised me, after calling 4wheel parts and asking questions they told me to call superlift, which I did superly. They sound exactly like the ones BTF sells, but the pumpkin u-bolt is 10.5" long which I needed. They also come with studs like the BTF kit, but is only 37.xx compared to 59.xx. We'll find out when they come in on friday if all of this is true.

God damn 4wheel parts, they sent me the wrong ****ing u-bolts. I even talked to the service people and actually called superlift who makes/supplies them. If they won't overnite what I need I'll have bvd make the damn things.

On a better note, summit actually sent the right bump stops. They also gave me a free hat and stickers!

Took the pump and steering box off tonight. The fluid had shiny sparkles in it :rainbow: I took the box apart to look at the internals and it was gunky as hell in there. I've decided against rebuilding the box and just buying a new one. It will be much better for time and my sanity.

Maybe tommorow night I pull an all nighter! I'd work later tonight if i had parts :(

4 u-bolts all of which are the same size. They all fit the non pumkin side, but those aren't the ones I need. I don't understand how they sent me the wrong crap. What we discussed on the phone was 2 like they sent me, 1 which has a larger diamter to fit around the pumpkin, and 2 studs that screw into the housing.

Instead I get 4 u-bolts. The one I really need is the larger diameter u-bolt that goes around the pumkin casting.

damn, I was gonna order a set from them tommorow, and I think mine is the same part number as yours (9/16 studs, plus 3 u-bolts). Summit has them, and ship pretty damn fast (normally have the order the 2nd or 3rd day), but I hate to pay the 10 dollar packaging fee if thats all I need to order

That big one is the one I got at carquest. I don't see how yall can make getting u-bolts so hard.

So to get the blazer prepared for the reunion, I need to fix a couple of things. The two main things are the crossmember mounts and the rear drive shaft. Other things should include: notching the frame where a power steering hose hits and maybe try to figure out the weird power problem where half the vehicle loses power randomly.

So the crossmember is the biggest problem.

There are two mounts you can't see on the adapter in the picture. One of them is broken off and I don't think welding it back on is going to solve the problem for long.

My plan is to make two plates the bolt on the back side of the adapter where the blue scribble is. One on the top and one on the bottom. Then attach them ghetto like to some ghetto crossmember.

I use to have one of those sitting around Doug. The Klune negated the need for mine. I'll see if I can find it.

Something I would recommend is a mount coming off of the end of the NP205. There are two bolt holes on one end (I think towards the bottom on a non-clocked one). Build a small plate off of it and mount it to the frame or a cross member. I made one of these after shredding my motor mounts in reverse (engine turned, shifter pinned my leg, S-curved my old crossmember, bad deal). It's been on there for a few years now and no more torn motor mounts. It would also protect that adapter and anything else from the twist.

But I thought you loved me???

Problem is the tcase is a 208. These adapters are notorious for breaking. I'm not sure if the 208 and 205 adapter are the same. I know they look similar.

back in the day doug and the guy with the dodge, whose name i can't remember, hooked their diesels up gooseneck to gooseneck on the side of hwy 6 by some creek. They both proceeded to blow smoke and both sink. Cops came, etc... fun times.
