Is the defender 4 piston or 2? mine are 4 piston front and 2 piston rear
they are 4 piston and spaced out the same as the later model RRCs to allow vented brakes. RRC and Discos use the same size piston, Defenders get larger pistons and pads. The defender rotor is the same as the late model RRC (92 and up?)
d90, RR, and disco's all use the same rear brake setups. It looks like some of the 110s got the same rear discs, and others used a larger setup that the 130 used. I don't know what years though, I think all NAS 110s were drum rear but it looks like some 93 and older 110s could have gotten discs in other countries.
Saw whatever the 4 door version of a D90 is the other day. Spare on the hood and ginormous snorkel. Given its proximity to Kollins's buddy's rover shop, I'm guessing he was headed there.
Yup...it's a black 2002 Defender 110 Td5. Needs clutch work.
Kevin think you could take a few pictures of the 2002 brakes? Does it have a salisbury or rover rear end?
at some point they went to disco II / RR style axles.
I'll check it the next time it comes in. NAS D110s had drums in the rear.
This is what I need
Kevin can you get me a price on a FRC8194 :gigem:
i googled. what makes it worth more than scrap?
factory front 60
so basically a narrowed dodge 60(external hubs)?
basically a land rover front 60 ;)
Is it an actual 60 diff with all the limey sh!t stuck on the outside or the britt's interpretation of what a 60 should be (metric and gay)?
its cast over there in Salisbury, referred to as a Salisbury too
everything in the diff is the same except the outer pinion bearing. they have a wierd spline count, but I think some domestic stuff use the same count since there is a lockrite available for it and 4wheep parts doesn't know that it fits them.
Sunbeam Tigers also have an axle that is referred to as a Salisbury, its a dana 44
they make crappy steaks too
I'm going through a bunch of old computers that were at my parents house and copying important stuff before junking them.
I came across this gem from 9/30/01
ahhh... the first time i met RJ's dad...
i also remember hearing about the "TAMOR Jeep" that flipped when i turned my bus in after the game...:gigem:
RJ's Dad requested to go to the large animal clinic. The sad part was (IIRC) there wasn't a scratch on the side that got T-Boned. The little ricer hit the rear tire and over it went.
found this. . . http://www.roxtarfab.com/acc-reardoor.htm
The powdercoated one looks like a pretty sweet deal.
made one fo free

so did they shave the bearing caps to make it fit? where's the write up? what are those C's? look expensive. if it's cheap maybe I can make them for the pink panther. I can find rover axles all day for cheap.
ashcroft is manufacturing the 3rds
its a high 9 gearset and a modified arb to fit the narrower 3rd member.
Its 3 grand to fit toyota stuff, I'd expect similar. for this.
damn, think I need a new clutch
this bumper is going in the trash, then its ready for Clayton
more gayness
Are those parts drawn up w/ actual dimensions or just a close approximation?
Either way, I wish I could figure out the solidworks enough to be able to just draw up one 3D part. :(
some actual dimensions, some are guesses. When its finished I'll spend an afternoon getting real #'s and update it before asking Cody to drop everything he's doing and cut this ;)
I think solidworks has a built in tutorial. Most of them do. This was done in Inventor and I've gone through most of the tutorials to figure out stuff that wasn't covered in the class I took like sheetmetal and wire routes. If you have free time to mess with this stuff check out Alibre. Its free, and kind of sucks, but you'll get used to thinking parametrically.
Are you going to use stock rover turn signals? If not, go to napa and ask to look at their Whelen lighting catalog. They have all kinds of flush mount regular and LED lights, might find something that tickles your pickle.
almost ready to get it cut. I think I'm going to go with the stock ones. I'll hit the disco junkyard over thanksgiving and grab some spare sockets to make them work. 75 pounds
I hear Cody is slow right now, might be a good time to get it done.
Looks sweet flem
Then you can get started on my crewcab!
its on now. How long does it take UPS to get here from england? Maybe I should have had it shipped to Ed last week.
You still have a few days to get it to me before I head out of here. :D
heres that picture I was telling you about Flem, according to this Discoveries are a main cause of global warming
