****, i just sold mine
$25 from the dealer, can get it tomorrow morning. Still tryin to find one today though.
why is this something you need ASAP. is it needed to drive the truck?
I bet john's transmission would sell you one
Technically not but considering I would have to drop the exhaust and front driveshaft again to re-install it later, I want to get it replaced before I put everything back together. Its also proven to have done its job of protecting the torque converter once already, so its worth replacing. Not to mention the 6 bolts holding it to the transmission bellhousing and 2 torque rods that bolt to it tell me its somewhat structural in nature.
ah, im thinking of a 4L60E with the little plastic dust covers. i wasnt aware that an 80 had a full lower cover similar to the old syle.
How'd you frag it?
Trying to hammer a dent out. Cast aluminum only like to get bent once...
ok, how'd you get the dent in it?
Dunno.
just put some duct tape over the hole
frag'd=fragmented
=duct tape don't fix that
jb weld?
F U C K F U C K F U C K F U C K F U C KGM discontinued the heavy cast aluminum cover and replaced it with a flimsy stamped steel piece of ****. It doesnt even have the ****ing torque rod mounts on it :angry::angry::angry::angry:
If you would have stuck with JB Weld, none of this would have been an issue.
have you tried the junk yards?
Dust covers are overrated, just mount the torque rods straight to the bellhousing and use shorter bolts...:D
if you still need one let me know i may have a buddie in cs with one.....
i hope your not talking about me
