Out of curiosity, has anyone ever seen someone use H1 double beadlocks on a street driven rig? Would they be possible to balance with the runflat and stuff? Do you think they could be recentered accurately enough to be used?

If you get the mag. runflats your going to need to cut them down so unless your that good, that right there will throw off the balance. Or get the rubber or use the pvc runflats. I bet centering those is a royal PITA. Mine we're not fun at all and they just look easyer.
On the other hand, you see military hummers running up and down the highway so it must be possible.
I figure they would be hard to balance, but like you said, you see hummers on the road. But then again they used to all use those crappy goodyears, so balanced wheels may be the least of thier problems
I don't know about balancing, but re-centering is easy. Just lay the new center on the lip inside and weld it up.
I'll find a picture later to illustrate, but if you look at a hummer wheel you'll know what I'm talking about.
recentering is pretty easy, like Brett said just use the lip. Thats what I did to the set I have here. When you start to weld them, just make sure you tack it real good all the way around it before you really start to weld them in place.
why do they need to be recentered?
way to much offset to be really usable unless your running dually axles, or spacers
Can't ya just flip them around?
uber ghetto. Centers are like 35 bucks a piece, so why not do it?

its a moot point anyway since I picked up a set of H2s off of sharpe, and I'm buying a set of 39.5x13.5r17 iroks from a guy in north texas

I want H1 wheels but I obviously need them recentered. Where can I buy them already re-centered, complete, ready to be mounted up?
usa6x6?
i hear they take a while.
also, they are only doing 3.5" BS now on the recenters.
PM Blacksheep10 on Pirate. He has (had?) a set of re-centered 8 lug ones for sale. He also re-centers them, a buddy of mine is buying a set for his Rockwells.
66cjdean or something like that on pirate does them. He's in the vendor section there. USA6x6 does them as well, but as you may know his service is horrible. The best option there is to just order the centers from him and do them yourself. They're shipped from a outside source in that case, and the problems you get when you have Daniel actually try to do custom work can be avioded. The price for the centers are pretty damned cheap, and they look pretty good
the guy from tech off-road with the plasma cnc is making the centers as well, i think copperhead fab is the name of his company

My rings :gigem:
those look more dangerous than Jimmy Mancuso's Whip Antenna!!! :gigem:
Did you get him to cut two of them in different directions so you didn't have one side of the vehicle running oppisite of the other?
I know that these things can be swapped over, just being a butt.
um, I'm hoping you forgot the :flipoff2:Quote:

back on topic, so these are just welded in to keep the beads from bending in H1 wheels? How much do these bad boys weight?
I have been diggin ditches long enough, I know what it means. :flipoff2:
Yes, they just weld in. They increase the strength of the rim and help to keep the rocks out from the hubs and other hardware inside.
What is a typical recentered BS? around 3.5" or so?
Also, does anyone have some disassembled pics of these wheels? I am very visual, and have never really seen how these go together and how they work? Sorry for the newb-esque question.
Blacksheep on pirate is getting $425 for a re-centered set plus shipping($100-200) Doesn't seem too bad
3 5/8"
I don't have any from when I broke the fowtyfo's down and put then on the H1's, but may be alble to get some here at the shop this afternoon if I can locate the camera.
Good deal?
I know they are 8 bolt rims, but the price is right.
seems like a good deal, I think that ED has 8 bolt rims
Price is definitely right...
Not a bad price and yes, I do have the 8 bolts. I havent heard many complaints of them, but will give ya the lowdown once I get to put mine to use.
