OK,
update after the Clayton trip - pictures of damage...
1) where my short was - on my original fuel pump wire grounding on the fuel cell.
2) some of the burnt wires from inside the dash
3) the broken welds in the lincoln locker
4) my new welds in the Lincoln locker (the current "spare" that I have in the truck will stay there, this is my new spare...)
i think it would be stonger if you put some more weld on it. :flipoff2:
wow! think it'll hold? :flipoff2:
been a while...
well, In preperation for the annual year end Clayton trip I ordered some new tires and some new front shafts!
I couldn't justify the $ for Krawlers so I just got 3 new SSR's to replace the two I tore and one worn one (have my good spare on the ground).
I also ordered some FJ-80 4340 front shafts from Dave at Polyperformance for $300 and 1 $300 FJ-80 4340 / CTM Birfield from Bobby Long to replace my popping right side.
I also ordered a new tranny mount from Toyota to replace my broken one.
I'm going to have to stay with the 37's and Toy axles for a while so I might as well make them strong...
Guess I had to spend some money on it sometime... :gigem:
re: the tires, did you get blems?

How do only 5 splines get stripped? Is your hub focked? Did you have the bolt in the end of the stub?
its one of those things that only Scott can do
I think so too... I have no idea, all the other's are rounded a little but there are a few that are just almost completly missing.Quote:

Never heard of anyone running it like that. I've always figured the hole was so you could put a bolt in there to help get them out when they blow and expand in the knuckle :confused2Quote:

and yes, it is time for a D60 but I decided to pro-long the life of the FJ-80 axle till I get a CJ with D60's built
