I'll be heading out to Bridgeport (northwest ohv park) this Saturday from 10 am until mid afternoon if anyone wants to join.
Sounds like a plan, I will be leaving Houston first thing Friday May 23, wheel Saturday and Sunday, Head home Monday
Fees are $30 per day for a wheeling rig and $10 per night for primitive camping, I reserved a spot at campsite #8 for the weekend, there are still available camping spots, I am not sure how big the spots are, they say the one I got can have 2 big tents.
It looks like the list is:
Creighton - Jeep
B. Colman - Ranger
Maybe's:
John Brown - Jeep
Tate - 1 Jeep
Evan - Jeep
Are you all still in for the trip? I finished all the work I think I needed to on my ranger today, just need to do some shopping for food and beer and load up the trailer.
Im probably not going to be able to make this one. really slammed on the ranch right now.
I am ready to go, just need to put the jeep on the trailer and go.
I'm not out for sure yet. Wife is having some pretty serious health problems we don't have a lot of answers about yet. I'll know more in two days when the labs get back. Jeep is ready. Just have to find out if everything is going to be ok with her first. My brother is down for sure with the scout too if I go. Just need to find another full width car hauler or borrow someone's GN. I think he will go without me if y'all are willing to teach him how to drive. He really isn't ready for the scout in my opinion but with some guidance he should be fine.
What could he really do? Rip off the front axle?
Funny. But he doesn't know how to work the transfercase yet. And starting the scout is tricky as balls too. Mechanically he is clueless at this point. Kinda why I wanted him to build a rig. But it ended up with me doing all the work and I ain't got no time for that.
Don't you have some friends with some land? Heck, take him and the scout to somewhere on plant property and make him drive it around for a while.
He finished school last Thursday and left the country. Just got back to town and went to CS to look at a few if DavidO's houses. Should be at the plant tomorrow. Plan to have him drop the tranny pan and replace the gasket. Then I'll have him drive it some around the plant. There was a wheeling trip this last past weekend local but I was having a garage sale and refused to fix his tranny for him while he was having fun in the. Bahamas
Your bro is a cool guy. I like him. But he had a tough time with his TJ and wheeling with a stick at Clayton. That Scout is a whole different animal.
Exactly. I wanted him to get some seat time locally but have not yet. The only time it has been drive. Yet was on and off the trailer.
He has gearing now, he can focus on where he's driving/ lines to pick rather than slamming gears.
I think he'll be ok, trial by fire. KT's climb at clayton.
He got the Tranny pan pulled yesterday. Still needs to put it back on and fill it with ATF. We have been busy so he hasn't had much time to dick with it.
Got the transmission running good now. Have a few other issues a now the coolant overflow tank is puking coolant out after a short while. Running a little hot. Also it started dieing as if it is out of propane but it is not. Will start back up and run with a little started fluid but eventually dies again shortly. I ran out of time to look at it today. Tomorrow we need to make time for it if he is going.
