Considering I know nothing about the Camaro, any one care to share?
I'm not one of those people that gets riled up about things on the internet and talking about racing. Its all in good fun.:gigem:
and besides, its not like my car is even capable of running at the moment, so the Camaro already has a big one up on me. ;)
I have never ridden in the camaro, we are always drunk when I am around it. However I have heard lots of stories from folks who have. It intrigues me honestly, bc it sounds mild, but everything you hear is ridiculous. Maybe Fred just knows how and isnt afraid to drive the ever livin out of it.
you should def dyno the RX, just so that you can back up any claims, and also you can tune it. seems like that is a setup that could really be enhanced changing a few things. IE another motor with similar setup might make big numbers, but everything has been maximized.
Speaking of fast cars, I know that it is a little anti productive, but I have always wanted a really fast full size truck. Something that anyone who rides in it is surprised by. early lightning would be fun. I will prob end up doing a 69-75 IH half ton short and wide with a 392. Make it loud. In pipe dream land it would have a modern suspension under it (air ride?) so that it could turn as well. It would not be super fast, but I think it would be fun and different.
The camaro is NOT fast. Quick maybe, but not what would be considered fast by car guy standards. The short version is that it's a 92 camaro RS convertible with an LT1, 6spd, and Ford 9" swapped into it. 320ish hp and 340ish torque. I'd have to go dig up the dyno sheet to get you the exacts.
...
This is why it has a little more conservative tune on it.
There is lots of power left in the motor once I get it up again, its a question of longevity, and drive ability. I don't have the extra money I used to now that I'm on my own and actually have things to pay for... So hopefully I can at least get it up by Christmas, if I can't over thanksgiving.
Sounds like if the camaro would be a fun run if you would add healthy shot of spray. :gigem:
aren't the apex seals the reason mazda never campaigned the rotary in road racing? I think they just don't have the abilty to live long around a track. I'm guessing the same would happen on a high strung DD. What was wrong w/ the 3rd? gen RX7 that Butler had. I think parts were loaded into the trunk when the guy came and bought it. That thing had a rough life.
that camaro has lost a hundred pounds
