I thought Clayton started on Thursday?
Looks good though. I always hated the Clayton prep/finals week. There was never enough time.
Just saying, I went to alto and downsouth with only the doubler cross member and no trans cross member...
Factory trans crossmember is in way of front shaft. My trans crossmember was a piece of tube bent around the front shaft
It'll be done or I won't sleep..........
Got the shifters done. They're a little out of alignment but they work, and that's all I'm worried about at the moment.
The cradle is already pretty sturdy, and since the bottom loop goes forward of the adapter foot, maybe just an outrigger to the trans mount (like the one for the foot on the 205) would be sufficient? This would just tie everything together...most of the weight is supported on the doubler adapter anyway.
Why tie them together? Then if you have to drop just the doubler you have to dick around with jacking up the transmission too and then it's harder to get the doubler stabbed back in. It'd be easier to make a separate crossmember for the transmission.
I think it would be easier than making a crossmember that has to go under/over/around the front driveshaft. With the people doing a single tube crossmember for their doubler adapter I would agree a separate trans crossmember would be necessary. With that large cradle and 4 frame mounting points I don't think it would be necessary to have a separate trans crossmember. A ratchet strap across the frame rails can hold up the trans just fine when the cradle is pulled.
