I drove from SA to colorado springs straight through with my brother like 2 years ago and it was 16 hours.
so corpus to denver i would say ~19-20 hours if you drove straight through the entire time.

You got to remember he will be draggin a heavy 32' GN w/ a couple of rigs and he aint got no turbo in that truck of his. Coming back out of the hills/mountains ought to help on the speed/mileage somewhat though.
Say, while I have you here, will you be able to meet us in College Station w/ the Jeep on the 30th or 31st? I figure I can come down and pick up Scotti's buggy too at that time. If not, I can drag it up with me when I fly in on the 28th if you can get a trailer.
ya i am sure i can work that out.
The 5:45 would be the one to take to get there. Gives the hippie time to get there if he's working all day.
How's the "Wanna Get Away" work with Southwest? How early do you have to book travel? I'd like to wait as long as possible before booking. Looks like I should make it.
I thought Creighton had an early powerstroke?
I dont' think so, but I have been known to be wrong before. This would only be the second time though... :flipoff2:
i thought he had a powerjoke to
fork i'll put a gooseneck on my truck and pull with mine. Mike's truck was sucking ass just in NM much less CO. Ask doug.
PS i have a hall pass from the wife, just need clearance from work.
If I were to be able to come... would there be any trails my 1 locker jeep could handle seems like all other rigs going are much more built
Yes (and we will have plenty of straps and winches to drag you along!!!)
that is a good one ed.... may have to think about this.... anniversery on the 2nd and she gets off work the 5th for only 1 week before summer school starts... might get kicked in the junk for even asking... not to mention we are "pulling the goalie" around that time... will see though
no offense to creightons truck but do you think it can make that kind of haul that long?
i would say go for jerrys truck.... ill throw in a bottle of jim
I am pretty sure it would be fine with him. You going to be able to leave out on the 2nd/3rd with us?
If you do, then maybe you can just bring up Coops CJ when you come hook up to the GN.
yeah our end of the month close ends on the 1st so after that im free as a bird. Im still waiting on confirmation that I have the time off. They never really told me how long i have to be here before i can take vacation. It may be monday before i hear anything, as we finish this month's close tomm and its all crazy right now.
ed, you getting new 19.5's before the trip?
i assume you guys are not going to go back up to denver sunday before heading back to Texas.
those of us that fly in can just ride back to Denver with Eric.
i am guessing the later flight????
1:05 might be pushing it, unless we get up early as crap and drive back to denver and drop of the ugly. the flights in between take twice as long so might as well just hang out for the later flight. at 7:45.... then sleep on the plane
Yeah, we will be making a b line back to tejas pretty much.
coop you might as well just leave your jeep in my backyard and plan on some more long weekends up here this summer
Yeah, and Eric will keep the cobwebs out of it. :)
You know, start er up from time to time, take a spin around the block to keep everything properly lubed ;)
I would either end up totally neglecting uglytruck, or dumping a lot of money into upgrading her displacement :D
Oh and there is the very very remote possibility of option C, which ends with me buying coop a new tub and roll cage :)
and by very, very remote, do you really mean a sure thing depending on alchohol consupmtion by weekend??/
hell, it's hard enough to keep body panels off the rocks when you're sober!
oh wow that's a whole lotta trailer! You're gonna high center going over raton pass!
no problem, I will just hit it fast enough and it won't be a problem!
(is it really that bad up there?)
naw the breakover's not too bad...it's on I-25 :D. You might have to three-point a few turns though!
Sweet! I guess I should call my brother and ask him about the route, I think he has made trips up that way a few times now. I may have to invest in the new speedbrake from Banks for this trip though (it would be as good a reason as any to get it :D )
i didnt say it could not do it, im sure its a great truck.
i meant more of the 97 vs 06 truck, more room, bigger back seat, smoother ride, more cup holders. SRW vs DRW.
if somebody asked me if i wanted to ride 2200 miles round trip in an older truck vs a newer truck i would go with the newer.
i am flying so i really dont care what you guys do :gigem:
unless jerrys truck is a mega cab then i would bet that creightons ford actually has more room in the cab/bigger back seat
