well i need to know for sure(jerry) so that i can book my plane ticket, it will be on the same flight as coop and kopecki
also, how street legal do the rigs need to be? or will that ohv permit be enough?
Dammit i meant to ask karl if i could borrow his trailer on sat when i was at his house.
I'll talk to my boss on mon. about time off.
I kinda want to go. Hauling the Bronco there seems like the opposite of enjoyable though.
i figured that, but if you pulled two rigs then there would be a spot for john brown's or david o's rig
3 things would have to happen for that to occur:
1) I would need definites from two more people
2) I would need someone to find another gooseneck
3) I would have to install a gooseneck hitch.
#3 doesnt occur until 1 and 2 do.
Additionally if i have to pay for a hitch, the two people on the trailer would be fitting the bill for fuel. As it is now I was just going to ask coop to pay over what it would cost for me to go up empty.
2050 miles at 19 mpg vs 10-12ish with all those hills in co. so prob about $100.
so does that mean that you are for sure towing coop? and if you cant find a trailer in houston i may be able to help with that
reading through i was going to say... the whole point of me wanting to get on with 2 other vehicles is to split fuel 3-4 ways.
but as long as i do not have to pay for it all my self i am down, it would make since for it to just leave straight from Houston.
we can talk about it more later.
FYI - you know there is a gooseneck in Houston that ya'll could probably use for free... It's actually been up there before too...
I'd so be coming if we didn't already have plans, but would be glad to help everyone else have some fun without me:D
I updated the first post. Here's how I see the trailers shaking out....
JB, I have you up there behind me so I can tug all three of the foolsizes. I may rethink this later after talking with Creighton about it. You have a bumper pull trialer correct? And does it have brakes?
How the hell does red GN plus a car hauler work?!?
i would guess like this

Yeppers ;)
The Dmax no needum stacks. Pulling it won't be the problem, stopping is another story. But I will just get this bad boy to remedy that. :D

I will be a few feet over the 'suggested' maximum length, but I don't see that as a problem.\
Just a note, everyone will need to supply their own binders/straps as I do not have near that many.
or do it this way, which I think would be better.
Ed
Red GN + carhauler
Beast
General
Cruizer (or another comparable sized vehicle)
Creighton
Mudgod's GN
Yella Goat
Curry's Yota
Scotti's Buggy
Jerry
Schubing's GN
GrandTheftAuto
Swamp Donkey (or the General, which ever would be the easiest to get to H-town for Jerry)
holy crap this thing's growing like the swine flu! Ed are you sure you can't get a CDL in time?
I'd put the lightest vehicle on the carhauler, Scotti's buggy.
Yeah, pretty sure. I don't know how hard it is in aggieland (maybe one of the bus trolls can chime in), but you cant even schedule your driving test until you take your written in Temple.
Kopecki, I was thinking this would be best, but I was worried about the weight Creighton's truck was going to have to tote. I think he is working an exhaust brake solution that will help him a bunch, and make scotti's buggy on the car hauler the best choice.
Emailed my boss this morning hopefully I'll know something soon.
If I pulled Scott's gooseneck my plan would be this:
Meet up with Scott Sunday night (if he hasnt left for Alaska already) get trailer and coop's jeep.
After work on Monday head to CS, put whatever other rig on trailer, sleep at doug's (if he'll have me).
Tues leave early in the morning, put on condom, meet up with yall in Fort Worth or so fill up and head to CO.
On the way home I would go straight to CS drop off krebs and other vehicle, take 290 to Scott's drop off trailer and coop's rig, go home, take off condom.
Jerry, if you need to pick up Scott's trailer earlier and your neighborhood won't allow it you're welcome to keep it at my place.
i just booked my flight, i am on flight 399 on continental, it departs and lands at the same time as the southwest flight, but IAH is closer to me and the ticket was cheaper
:smokin:
Looks like I'm in! Not supposed to take vacation until after the following month but the boss man let it slide.:gigem:
Let me talk to the other boss man, and confirm she doesnt care about me buying a hitch.
just got an email back from J, he is interested and "thinking about it." I'll get him to come!
I showed him that video creighton posted of carnage canyon, as an auto insurance adjuster, that was a little disconcerting to him:p
I have about 8 tie downs and a few chains, so plenty for all of mine and most if not all of another.
Ed/Eric, how about some more logistics:
Are we only camping in one spot? Where is that?
Even though I'm not driving at all, lets make sure everyone has CB's in the tow and trail vehicles. I've got a CB with a cig lighter plug and a magnet mount antennae. I'll also take care of the 2m HAM:flipoff2:
Cooking? Are we eating out? Cooking at the campsite? I've got a propane cast iron 3 burner stove.
Are we just bringing one tent?:flipoff2:
Etc...
I'm excited!
I was just worried about getting everybody nailed down on if they were going or not so I could try to make sure we had enough trailer space and towrigs. So cut a canadian some slack! :flipoff2:
Camping:
I may have an extra cb or two stashed away in the shed somewhere, but not sure. I definitely have one that will just get swapped from tow to trail rig.
Bring your grill. I should have enough propane tanks to keep up cooking for no bigger of a group than we have. We haven't got into food planning stages yet, but maybe I can get somebody to pick up some slovaceks from snook for one night, but if we are going to just do hamburgers and such, the camp ground is just out of town so we should be able to pick up supplies there.
I have my campground condominium that I can bring (Coop should remember this one :D ) and it will sleep all of us (we will just have to get real cozy is all, but that's the idea right??? ).
i may have a cb or two that i can bring, but i dont have any extra antennas
Let's plan to go into town for dinner at least once and goto at least one bar for some local flavor (ie lefthand oatmeal stout:gigem:)
This place got showers and chitters?
