I've been working on the tow rig, but so far looks like i'm just about ready to go. :)
I don't think I'm ever really done before a run, but I think I'm about done with what will get done before this trip. Need to bolt up and plumb the ram. I need to look over everything, fluids etc.
Yeah we at least should be able to use that damn grill whenever we want :flipoff2:Quote:

Yeah, not sure how much (don't need no gas got propane!) is left. I'll weigh it if I rememberQuote:

I can get a brisket from sams club, cook it partially here overnight and then we can wrap it in some foil and throw it in someone's engine bay for the trip to OK.
We cooked a brisket in my bro's buddies honda on the way from NY to NC a couple years back.
yeah, yeah, I'll get on it tomorrow morning after my last final. I had to finish up the other CJ7 this afternoon so we wouldn't get fined...Quote:

remove old sushi from fridge
install new sushi in fridge
Reinstall ripped off fender.
Fiddle with carb if I feel frisky.
Replace front bent leaf springs with new RE-1.5 springs.
Replace header flange gaskets to fix annoying exhaust leak.
Replace valve cover gaskets to fix annoying oil leak.
None is really necessary. We'll see how motivated I feel.
-build pimp ass doubler crossmember
-build pimp ass transmission crossmember.
- Shorten rear and lengthen front driveshaft
-bolt shifters on
-put marvel mystery oil in the motor
-build new tie rod.
-Tell my trailer to suck a dick, borrow chet's gooseneck.
All of this will happen the day before almost guaranteed.
Load cooler
Load trailer
Boom
I need to lay eyes on my new rig, then decide what I have to do, according to my brother is is just rear axle swap, fab track bar mount, and not sure what else, either that or take one of the other rigs, we will see what happens
Need to see if my front locker is broken. If so replace it, if not diagnose the strange clicking noise
Get Beer, drink beer
Pick up Jimmy
Haul ass
Fix Alto damage (bent LR spring, busted rear axle, broken LF ujoint, whatever else I find along the way)
Give Lurch his yearly Lucas/Oil change
possibly touch up paint (woodgrain and yellow is showing through pretty good again)
load up.
Move 3 other jeeps around blocking red jeep, make front driveshaft, new starter and solenoid.
Made lots of progress. Jason's jeep just needs some cleaning up under the hood where things got relocated, hood latch added and the whole top thing was a mess.
We tried to put new top on his jeep and it was too tight to get all the way on. When trying to put window in we broke the zipper. So I pulled it off and stuck it on mine. I got it on all the way and went to put opposite window in and broke that. Zipper. So I guess it is just an expensive POS I'm sending back. Never even opened the box for the second one. Hopefully they can get me some different tops soon.
Tate jeep lacks driveshafts. Need antifreeze overflow that I trashed last trip. Some tweaking of shifter linkage after dive shafts are in and of course a new top. There are other things but mostly not needed before the trip.
Busa jeep got air in front tires today because it decided to not have any in them. I don't think I am going to bother taking it to Clayton.
Jeep tops can't be cold. Esp when new. It needs to be warmed up the material shrank. Put it inside the house or in a car with the heater on or something. The material shrinks when cold.
Need to check out Lynda's Jeep and make sure everything is still OK from our trip to CO. It was still working when I backed it into the garage so it should be good. We still have the problem with blowing out the power steering pump - did it once in CO. Might see about making another big change there.
I heated the top. The main part went on ok. But do to poor location and crappy quality zippers I broke another one. I'm shipping these poorly made crap back and getting something else.
what brand are they?
Rugged Ridge XHD Bowless. They are sending me two more of the same tops. He said I would have to pay return postage if I get another brand. Also said to heat the crap out of them and then use a hair dryer to get them on the first time. If the new ones don't work then I'll pick out a different one.
Well the only thing left on the Tate Jeep is putting the rear driveshaft back in when I get it back from being shortened.
Jason's TJ only lacks hood latch instillation and new top when it comes in (if it does that is)
Car Hauler #1 has new fenders coming in tomorrow some time. Old ones need cut off and new ones installed. Also have to fix a badly bent taillight housing
Car Hauler #2 is just going without brakes. I don't feel like working on it.
Oh and the first top went on the Tate Jeep no problem. It helps when it isn't in the 30s outside
Check all the oils, check the u-joints, and load the cooler. Taking the scout, jeep still needs work.
Traction bars, rear drivershaft, lots of lights, and cupholders
Lurch:
-Rewire Control switches for fans, lights, OBA
-Replace headlight switch
-Replace entire cooling system (done)
-Remove "rebuilt" radiator that is apparently bad and install new radiator
-Wait for new radiator
-replace power steering pressure hose and return
-get shorter belts for new alternator pulley
-Disassemble front axle and repack wheel bearings
-change gear oil in front axle
-grease all ujoints
-change engine oil and filter
-install new stereo head unit
-install different windshield frame and windshield
Trailer:
- Weld deck plate that has broken loose
- Get tire with nail in it patched
- Repack bearings and inspect suspension
- Replace clearance lights on rear
Tahoe
- Reinstall transmission, exhaust, etc associated with pulling out the trans.
-waiting on trans to be finished being built
-waiting on torque converter to be built and shipped in
- change engine oil
- rotate tires
I'm sure there is some stuff I'm forgetting...
