Hey I was finally settling on two--unfortunately silver and blue seem to be very popular...Quote:

edit: i ate 15 hot wings tonight, i'll probably have a "barn burner" tommorow (sp?)
Figured it's about time for some teardown pics. Pulled the motor, trans, and t-case sucked by myself. Cut parts of the cage out with the plasma, turned out to be easier than I thought. Clean cuts following the fishmouth/welds, no gouging.

thats a whole lotta expensive tube on the ground. Save it the short pieces are always good for something, they make great jackstands.
Hey isn't that stuff .095 wall or something like that
did you really pull that engine without taking the grill or radiator out?
Well the pics sure do look like it. ;) Yeah it was a mistake, I was contemplating whether or not to pull the grill, etc then didn't.
Yes I'm keeping the old tube for small stuff. And yes, it's thin wall chromoly.
go with some heavy wall for things that will contact rocks frequently like the halo, the thin wall doesn't hold up to rubbing on rocks to well, it likes to dent
What'd you do read that in a magazine? :flipoff2:
I already have plenty of tube and other assorted steel. Went with DOM this time.
no, I got that talking to competitors at a comp about what they would do different as far as engines, roll cages and material.
Of course peterson's did do that article too
I just think you are going to want a cage that you can roll multiple times instead of one that is going to protect you but may deform if you roll it hard. It is just something to consider.
i don't know if you see a hard roll in your future but I see one in mine. I don't want to but I am sure that it will happen eventually
