That's a 6.4 powerstroke. Timing is gear driven on a majority of modern diesels. This is the result of bad tuning, either written with too much timing or someone put a giant tuner on and just beat...

It definitely looks like 2 valves got a little intimate with the piston.
Pretty much needs a whole motor. Cheap way out would be to sleeve this one cylinder, and replace all the pistons. I'm not sure what that would do for longevity. I'm glad it's not my truck

It's called a general electric module or GEM on these trucks and they do go bad with age or with a leaky windshield. Usually when those go though, the stuff just stops working, it doesn't leave a...
What's the number for the code it threw? I'm betting it's a bad tcase motor, that seems to be the most common issue. When you get back to the truck, unplug the motor and see if you get power there...
The tablet is great. There's an app for the radio so it has controls just like a touch screen aftermarket radio would, and I can use all sorts of apps like pandora, spotify, google or other map apps,...
I got me a new truck a couple of weeks before clayton. 08 f250 with a 6.4. Low miles, lariat, clean paint, and you can talk at normal volumes to the person right next to you. Then I put a tablet in...
Dude, stop rubbing lotion on your hands and go get one at a picknpull yard. It's probably like a hose clamp and (4) 8mm bolts.
So they finally caught up with what Ford did in the 80s with their crew cabs?
Did your guy at bilstein give you a sweet price?
Towing is for suckers. Brodozer engage!
Or fox factory replacement. Those are the top 2 for better than parts store grade shocks.
The all out tune will smoke on any truck, not to mention you said your truck needs a new HPOP. Low ICP will cause your truck to be smokier.
If you think you will ever want to do a delete package on your truck, I would buy a minimaxx race tuner asap. H&S got hit with some big EPA fines and they don't make them anymore. Delete tuners are...
And then behind that is the transmission cooler.
Yes.
I painted and cleaned my lenses up this weekend. I'll never buy another headlight restoration kit again. I used one before and my lenses were still cloudy as hell. I sanded with 600 then 1000 then...
They do cost quite a bit more, and you have to get the harness adapters, and new bulbs. $50 or $300?
No, now you really need to replace your headlights. The 02-04 lights are 25 each on rock auto, they bolt in and use the same 9007 bulb.
I'd skip that. Its probably more worn out than yours. I would either get a Bosch reman or a t500, and only after I knew there weren't any high pressure oil leaks.
Also not a part I would be looking for someone to have laying around.
Do some diagnostics before you throw money at it.
All I know is the guys at cardoc like them a bunch on their toyotas. Never heard anything about them on an 8k truck though. Never ran the nittos but my toyos have been awesome for all weather...
Is the smoke manageable? Most all the pre-commonrail cummins trucks I've seen with any decent power are smokey pigs.
