My parent's gets 24-26 on the highway pretty consistently. Granted it's not a 4wd but I doubt there is that big of a difference.

Cool, 80's are pretty sweet. Yours have the electric lockers? If not, that'd be a good place to start, and then go for the lift/tire and body armor.

What are you using your truck for, is it just a DD that you want a good looking tire or does it see mud or rocks regularly?

So ummm you building this for your son now, maybe he'll be able to drive it when he reaches your age.
Pretty much how the cruiser is setup. A 3 way switch for off/low/high or in this case off/1 fan/2 fans, etc. Then 2 relays and resetable circuit breakers just in case. So easy a rowdy could do it.
Would be a nice beater. Looks like the rockers and under the real tailgate are going to be pretty bad though. Those areas rust like a mother :(
