Has anyone heard of some sticker or permit you are supposed to have to go to state funded parks? I'm told I now need one to go to BMRA. Know where to buy one in town?

I know you have to have one to run the Canadian River up around Amarillo. I saw a few jeeps with them when i went on a run around Post a few weeks ago.
I think you need one on any vehicle not DOT approved/lic and registered....it is another way for the state to collect money on a non registered vehicle. fawkers
From what little I know about the program, it's for licensed and registered vehicles. They sell them at Barnwell but this is a private even and I'm told the office will be closed, but that doesn't stop the game warden from showing up. Clayton, you know anything about this?

Yeah I have heard of it, been enforced at BMRA since January. They sell them at the Office, but even if the office is "closed" someone has to man it for the event and either Karen or Lawton can show them how to sell the stickers...
I heard they won't even be there. Its a vacation weekend for them since all registration and insurance is through a 3rd party, but thats niether here nor there

can't you get it at the same office you buy boat registration? the one above is the one in Bryan
Check out these attachments. Page 8 & 9 of this month's TMTC newsletter explain how the monies go for the stickers. It also says it doesn't apply to my truck since it's registered and inspected. The part I don't like is that almost all the places that receive the funding from the stickers and what it applies to are motorcyle/ATV places where I'm not allowed to take my truck? I also wonder how they decided where to give the money. Are they all non-profits?

Here is one use of the money. $150K to the City of Trophy Club to improve a riding area that they say is also used for full size OHV's. I've never heard of it, probably wouldn't ever want to go there. Other than BMRA, I don't see where full size OHV's are getting anything out of it. I could be dead wrong, but it looks like a really good way to give money to cities, then the people in charge of it know nothing about what we do and spend it on wildflowers at the entrance or something. I know the Dexter House would be excited about it, but I'd rather it be spent on showers and bathrooms out at katemcy. We're a non-profit off-road related agency, let's get some of that money and spend it where we go!
