    I dont know about that swap. The 4500 is ALOT bigger, heavier and all around stouter than a 3500 and will deffinately negatively affect your mileage. I would stick with the 3500 unless you are planning a V-8 swap of some sort.

    theres a reason the 2500 frame is taller than the 1500 frame. you planning on building a new transmission tunnel?

    85 lbs difference, i doubt you would ever notice that in mileage.

    Parasitic drag from the larger gears and bearings. I have a hard time believing the steel cased 4500 only weighs 85 lbs more than the aluminum cased 3500 too.

    you be much happier putting a 700r4 in it. then you can get a kickass B&M ratchet shifter for the floor.

    no, it depends on the application. im much happier with a manual then an auto constantly jacking off.
