Very well thought out and methodical testing of winches. Also very interesting final result numbers.

Wide.. I thought you couldn't go smaller than 15" tall??

What's the widest wheel I could put on there? (No, I'm not looking to put a rediciulously wide wheel on there, just wanting to know what my limits are)

your self-guided tour of the internet for today involves googling the words "backspacing" and "scrub radius" and following the resultant links wherever they may lead you until you have found the answer to your question

Tires like to fall off wide wheels at low pressures. Most use a wheel about 2" narrower than the tire. I really think a wheel about 4" narrower than the tire is the way to go for offroad+highway. Tire stays on better, sidewall is better protected, and still wears right. Go skinnier on the wheel and the tire will wear in the center too much.

nah, thanks though. Brian was supposed to deliver it for me. the deal went bust and i forgot about it in his truck.

i dont need it, but it would help me get rid of my 231/241 parts.

So I have an '86 Ford 460 with the good ole Duraspark Version 2 on it. The other day it would not start, so I check fuel, spark and no spark. So, go through wires, cap, distributor and I find the "magic box" is bad. I get one from O'reilly's for $26, replace it and everything is good. My question is this, what makes these boxes go out? I ask because when I found where the magic box was, there were 2 of them. Apparently the original went out and rather than remove it, they just bolted the new one next to it, that went out on me. Seems like a repeat problem for this vehicle. Ideas?

Was there a puddle of melted wax down the fenderwell below it? Usually heat kills them when it melts that wax-like stuff and exposes the electronics to moisture.
