To be honest, youre right. I DONT need a 6 cd changer when i have 10000 songs on my Ipod... everywhere i went said it would be easier to buy a head unit so i think ill go that route.

even if they werent, there are probably two cops and one inspector in the entire state that would know that law and be willing to say something about it. Its kinda like the beadlock law, not that big of a deal

I'm not worried about running heims, just wondering about the legal aspects

There is no law that adresses that, or hydraulic steering, or a bunch of other crap web wheelers worry about. If an inspector doesn't like it, he can fail you, they're allowed to fail you if for any reason they decide your vehicle is unsafe. You're allowed to try a different inspector.

I dunno if it's true because I never really cared, but I read somewhere that your steering can't be welded together ie. tube adapters for heims. But again, who looks at your steering?

Thanks, I couldn't find anywhere in the law that spelled out the use of heims illegal.

What got me thinking about it was that most all major steering kits that use heims specifically say in gigantic lettering that heims are illegal in every state.

I think that is more an insurance issue on their end. They don't want to be liable if something happens. All the inspector is going to car about is how much play is in the steering. If you use sloppy tractor heims he will probably fail you.
