    PVC speaker tubes?

Time to get my ghetto on. Bronco needs a new way to mount the front two 6" speakers (6.5 maybe?) for Shiloh. What about a 6" piece of Sch40 PVC, silicon it in, cap the other end, ring clamp it to the roll cage. One piece of PVC for each speaker. How long would the PVC need to be? Would I need to drill holes in it other than the two holes for some quick speaker wire connectors?

Looks like I can get some 6-6.5" marine speakers for under 100.

    Great idea or greatest idea?

I would make them pretty short. Should be cool though. I remember a story about PVC speakers, I think it was a guy I knew who went to MIT and had a class taught by Mr. Bose. He taught them how to make the huge club speaker with PVC.

couldnt find a link. If you can see if you can find airspace specs for whatever you buy, or at least for a 6.5" woofer of some sort.

That are perfect for what it is. You can turn it up pretty good, but they are just 5.25" speakers couple with the old 6x9s in the back. I am going to replace the rear speakers with the same cheap brand before Shiloh.

The new deck has an Aux output, so I just but a bunch of songs on an old iPod and I am good to go.

Dude, the PVC idea is freakin awesome. I have been toying with some klogger ideas, and that is by far the best.

    Ha Ha, those are peemp!!!

I have been looking at ATV speaker boxes here lately. Some are cheap (~$150-200), others are pretty expensive (~$700-800) but real nice. I may see if I can find a piece of 12" PVC and some 1/2" thick lexan/plexiglass and ship it over and try to put a decent one together here.
