    Can't find a driveshaft!!!

So my search continues as I learn I can only fit a drive shaft from another auto 4 banger... I have been quoted for rebuilds at $300 (no way...) And one at $175 plus shipping...

Was also told that a drive shaft from a manual will not clear the auto tranny pan...

    Any advice?

    Thanks guys

Can you post what kind of vehicle it is you want the shaft for?

There are two driveshaft shops in town if you need to have it repaired. Brazos Valley Drivelines and Bryan Drivetrain, either are about as good.

I found a good one for 175 shipped, I think I'm going to jump on it?

I'm not exactly sure whats wrong with it... I'm still new to the 4x4 world... Something it broken in the center? Its at home in Houston so I can't really give a good description... Wish I could.

Its the front drive shaft, and I don't have the selectable hub so the front drive shaft is always spinning...

is that a new one or used, probably used. are you sure that is is good or did someone just have it laying around. you might be able to get yours rebuilt for that. where in houston is it. houston ds shops have been cheaper than up here from my experiences

If it's making a lot of noise you can spray lithium grease into the CV ball and see if that helps. If it does and the noise comes back you may be able to get away with having someone rebuild the CV and replace your u-joints.

Its just out side of the woodlands (north side)

The one that is 175 is from Davey Jeeps, so its used, but the guy has a good reputation from what I have heard and he says its good.

I don't mind spending a little bit more on that one and having it for this weekend...

I have been dieing to wheel my own rig...
