    Tube notcher

    Need to borrow a tube notcher. Will be in CS next weekend. Will compensate with beer.

    ive called the ones around here, they are too stupid to order me one and they dont have them there

    use a portaband. Thats what I use these days after trying tubing notchers, chop saw method, etc. One of those pipemasters help for figuring out where to cut, but even thats not really necessary after a little practice. Its so much easier and faster. I did all the notches on the 4runner that way

    if I remember correctly, the tubing notcher was $27 dollars. The HF portaband is $60. Yeah, it isn't cheap, but its not that bad

    As long as you have something super solid to anchor it to, a beercan to make shims out of, a slow drill with a big chuck and a warranty, and plenty of WD-40 you will be fine. I have become a firm believer in the chopsaw method though.

    haha don't think I do. I am still amazed at how long and well it continued to run after the smoke started coming out...long after it got too hot to hold!

    yeah, that was pretty funny. We were on a roll between that and you welding inside the cab of the truck in a wife beater, shorts, and sandals
